The Beginning. This book is the seventeenth in a series of verse-by-verse preaching from various New Testament books of the Bible. It is an attempt to bring to the minds of the readers two things: (1) the meaning of the words in the verses, and (2) some practical applications of those words to the lives of both genuine Christians and non-Christians. Paul is the apostle of Jesus Christ by God's will. Before this, he imprisoned and agreed to the killing of Christians. The Lord Jesus Christ met him as he was going to Damascus to imprison Christians. On his way there, the Lord Jesus Christ saved him and called him to be an apostle. I believe Paul, not Mathias, was chosen by the Lord Jesus Christ to take the place of Judas Iscariot who betrayed the Saviour. Timothy was with Paul when he wrote 2 Corinthians and he was right there in the church of Corinth with all the genuine Christians in Achaia or northern Greece. This was Paul's second letter to them. In his first letter, he excoriated them because one of the men had committed incest with his father's wife. Paul is trying to encourage them in the things of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Every Sunday morning, ministers have a choice to make. They can give a motivational speech that is ankle-deep and laced with all kinds of inconsequential anecdotesor they can preach. Sure-Fire Preaching is intended for those who choose the latter. A practical guide to biblical exposition that any preacher can use in their preaching ministry, Sure-Fire Preaching presents a tried-and-true method of presenting Scripture the way God intended for it to be communicated. In this resource, author Jeff Dickson presents the ideas of Dr. Paul Fink, whose career in preaching and teaching spanned fifty years at Grace Theological Seminary and Liberty University. Dickson covers the three most significant areas of sermonizing: the science of preaching, the art of sermonizing, and the miracle of voicing. Sure-Fire Preaching summarizes everything that is necessary for accurately, creatively, and effectively presenting Scripture and answering the call of 2 Timothy 4:2 to preach the Word!

Coauthored by a homiletician, a theologian, and a biblical scholar, this book is a preaching primer that provides tools for crafting effective, engaging, and inspiring sermons. Using a unique workbook-style format, Introduction to Preaching equips seminarians and preachers to use appropriate theological claims informed by solid biblical interpretation while providing several sample sermons from the authors. Readers will learn how to use a three-part schema—the Central Question, the Central Claim, and the Central Purpose—to provide the drive, direction, and destination for the sermon. Offering guidelines for using appropriate sermon forms, imagery, metaphors, and creativity, together with advice on how to deliver contextually relevant sermons using our bodies, presence, and voice make this a staple for both new and experienced preachers. Introduction to Preaching includes a chapter on exploring the space of preaching, including onsite and online sermons. In addition, it features charts and worksheets to help organize the sermon-writing process, as well as exercises for the preacher’s voice and body and tips for advice for guest preachers and supply preachers. A glossary of terms and an extensive bibliography make this a handy reference guide for students and all preachers.

All are sinners, all must be saved, all saved should serve: Though none can be saved by their "good works," all saved should serve the Lord by "good works" that God has "ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). Though we cannot serve God to be saved, once we are saved, we can.

Sermons On Men Of The Old Testament written by Charles H. Spurgeon and has been published by Hendrickson Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-10-07 with Religion categories.

With straightforward, passionate words, Charles Spurgeon could take one Bible verse and draw insights powerful enough to change lives. He preached over 3,500 sermons in his lifetime, many of them on the individuals who live out God’s story in the Old and New Testaments. Sermons on Men of the Old Testament highlights Spurgeon’s sermons on fourteen men in the Old Testament and their relationships with God. Here you will discover that men such as Abraham, Enoch, Moses, Samuel, and Isaiah are much like you in their questions, their desires, their relationships, their humanness, and their hunger for faith. Gently updated for the modern reader, Spurgeon’s words are as powerful today as they were more than a century ago. So let him introduce you to the real men of the Bible—as you’ve never known them before. Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) was one of England’s best-known preachers in the second half of the nineteenth century. Ordained at 20, just four years after his conversion, he spent most of his career preaching in London’s 6000-seat Metropolitan Tabernacle. The founder of a college that trained over nine hundred pastors during his lifetime, he also opened orphanages for underprivileged boys and girls, providing education to each one. He stands in the very first rank of preachers. No one since has been as widely read devotionally or so frequently mined by ministers.
