Applications Of Fuzzy Techniques written by Scott Dick and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-09-29 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book is of interest to practitioners, researchers and graduate students seeking to apply existing techniques, to learn about the state of the art, or to explore novel concepts, in the theory and application of fuzzy sets and logic. Human knowledge and judgement are essential in both designing technological systems and in evaluating their outcomes. However, humans think and communicate in imprecise concepts, not numbers. Fuzzy sets and logic are well-known, widely used approaches to bridging this gap, which have been studied for nearly 60 years. NAFIPS 2022 brought together researchers studying both the theoretical foundations of fuzzy logic and its application to real-world problems. Their work examined fuzzy solutions to problems as diverse as astronomy, chemical engineering, economics, energy engineering, health care, and transportation engineering. Many papers combined fuzzy logic with interval or probabilistic computing, neural networks, and genetic algorithms.

AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES Addressing the current challenges, approaches and applications relating to autonomous vehicles, this groundbreaking new volume presents the research and techniques in this growing area, using Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This book provides and addresses the current challenges, approaches, and applications relating to autonomous vehicles, using Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, deep learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. Several self-driving or autonomous (“driverless”) cars, trucks, and drones incorporate a variety of IoT devices and sensing technologies such as sensors, gyroscopes, cloud computing, and fog layer, allowing the vehicles to sense, process, and maintain massive amounts of data on traffic, routes, suitable times to travel, potholes, sharp turns, and robots for pipe inspection in the construction and mining industries. Few books are available on the practical applications of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and autonomous vehicles from a multidisciplinary approach. Further, the available books only cover a few applications and designs in a very limited scope. This new, groundbreaking volume covers real-life applications, business modeling, issues, and solutions that the engineer or industry professional faces every day that can be transformed using intelligent systems design of autonomous systems. Whether for the student, veteran engineer, or another industry professional, this book, and its companion volume, are must-haves for any library.

Precise Positioning With Smartphones written by Yang Gao and has been published by Mdpi AG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-13 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Over the last few years, many smartphones have been equipped with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology, allowing people to use their own devices for positioning and location services. After the release of the Android Nougat (version 7) operating system, raw GNSS measurements (i.e., pseudorange, carrier-phase, Doppler shift, and carrier-to-noise density ratio (C/N0) observations) from smartphones and tablets became accessible, which opened the door to precise positioning capabilities in consumer devices. Many studies have since been conducted, as precise location information will lead to many new smartphone applications in the near future. While the progress has been encouraging, a number of limiting factors must be overcome in order to support real-world applications, including poor antenna quality, the difficulty of carrier phase ambiguity resolution, and low availability and integrity in operational environments. The contributions from academia and industry included in this reprint discuss innovative ideas and algorithms and present experimental results for precise positioning with Android smartphones.

Urban Informatics written by Wenzhong Shi and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-04-06 with Social Science categories.

This open access book is the first to systematically introduce the principles of urban informatics and its application to every aspect of the city that involves its functioning, control, management, and future planning. It introduces new models and tools being developed to understand and implement these technologies that enable cities to function more efficiently – to become ‘smart’ and ‘sustainable’. The smart city has quickly emerged as computers have become ever smaller to the point where they can be embedded into the very fabric of the city, as well as being central to new ways in which the population can communicate and act. When cities are wired in this way, they have the potential to become sentient and responsive, generating massive streams of ‘big’ data in real time as well as providing immense opportunities for extracting new forms of urban data through crowdsourcing. This book offers a comprehensive review of the methods that form the core of urban informatics from various kinds of urban remote sensing to new approaches to machine learning and statistical modelling. It provides a detailed technical introduction to the wide array of tools information scientists need to develop the key urban analytics that are fundamental to learning about the smart city, and it outlines ways in which these tools can be used to inform design and policy so that cities can become more efficient with a greater concern for environment and equity.

Provides technical and scientific descriptions of potential approaches used to achieve indoor positioning, ranging from sensor networks to more advanced radio-based systems This book presents a large technical overview of various approaches to achieve indoor positioning. These approaches cover those based on sensors, cameras, satellites, and other radio-based methods. The book also discusses the simplification of certain implementations, describing ways for the reader to design solutions that respect specifications and follow established techniques. Descriptions of the main techniques used for positioning, including angle measurement, distance measurements, Doppler measurements, and inertial measurements are also given. Indoor Positioning: Technologies and Performance starts with overviews of the first age of navigation, the link between time and space, the radio age, the first terrestrial positioning systems, and the era of artificial satellites. It then introduces readers to the subject of indoor positioning, as well as positioning techniques and their associated difficulties. Proximity technologies like bar codes, image recognition, Near Field Communication (NFC), and QR codes are covered—as are room restricted and building range technologies. The book examines wide area indoor positioning as well as world wide indoor technologies like High-Sensitivity and Assisted GNSS, and covers maps and mapping. It closes with the author's vision of the future in which the practice of indoor positioning is perfected across all technologies. This text: Explores aspects of indoor positioning from both theoretical and practical points of view Describes advantages and drawbacks of various approaches to positioning Provides examples of design solutions that respect specifications of tested techniques Covers infra-red sensors, lasers, Lidar, RFID, UWB, Bluetooth, Image SLAM, LiFi, WiFi, indoor GNSS, and more Indoor Positioning is an ideal guide for technical engineers, industrial and application developers, and students studying wireless communications and signal processing.
