One day you will be happy, but first life will teach you how to be strong. A powerful novel, charged with strong emotions, with a cadenced rhythm. A story of domestic violence, of psychological abuse that will grab you in the gut. Mysia, a young woman, and her monochromatic life that step by step will become increasingly tinged with black, a black that knows sadness, fear, mourning. And in an escalation of violence, when the situation seems to become irreparable, impossible to bear, it will seem as if there is only one solution... But life is sometimes able to surprise us, and although this will not represent a fair reward for the wrongs suffered, perhaps over time it will be able to mitigate the memories, cushioning sharp edges and opening an unhoped-for glimmer of light. Every one of us deserves a life in color, deserves to finally be the architect of our own destiny, without succumbing any longer, to finally be free to love, to love each other. PUBLISHER: TEKTIME

The Jewish Son written by Daniel Guebel and has been published by Seven Stories Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-06-27 with Fiction categories.

A breathtaking short novel about the complicated feelings of hate and pity in familial love by an acknowledged Latin American master. A brilliant and dark tour de force, Jewish Son presents the delicate archeology of the stubbornness of a boy who demands his parents’ attention. It is a brutal confession of the lies necessary to win a space of approval in a troubled family, a treatise on the excesses of love and the paradoxical lack of affection that is never enough, an accomplished narration of childhood from the point of view of the adult gaze, and a rewriting of Kafka’s Letter to His Father. As his father’s imminent death becomes an ever more concrete reality with surgeries, caregivers, sedatives and his mother grows obsessed with visits to the rabbi and amasses saint cards and Buddhist prayers, the narrator evokes the remnants of the rejection that pervaded his childhood. Without yielding to the idealization of youth or to the delight in pain before physical decay and death, Guebel dissects, beautifully although with discomfort, his very early conversion to the dream of literature as an act of reparation.

Poetry. Translated from the French by Lee Fahnestock. First published in 1942 and considered the keystone of Francis Ponge's work, Le parti pris de choses appears here in its entirety. It reveals his preoccupation with nature and its metaphoric transformation through the creative ambiguity of language. "My immediate reaction to Lee Fahnenstock's translation was: this must certainly be 'Ponge's voice in English'...[She] gives us his tones, rhythms, humor...[and] maneuvers his word play with respect and unostentatious discretion"--Barbara Wright, translator of Queneau, Pinget, Sarraute.

Before writing the Preface of "Odyssey International Anthology for World Poets 2020", I would like to congratulate and salute the great personality, Her Royal Highness Sheikha Mozah Nasser Al-Missned. She has already spread kindness and generosity all over the world. Peace be blessed upon her and her family. Then I think that it is necessary to say something about poetry. According to me, "Poetry is a kind of oscillation of our conscious or subconscious mind". Perhaps even the poet may not be able to know how the juice, squeezed from our daily life and the thoughts touching all, can make poetry. Yet he continues his writing poetry with an infinite mystery. Why to write and why not to write is also a question mark swaying constantly in front of the eyes of a poet.To explain it more open-heartedly , it can be said that poetry is a kind of mystery and the creator of this mystery is only the mysterious man. Creating this mystery, the mysterious man has named it poetry. A poet creates poetry; so he is the creator of poetry. This creator is not a mere creator, he picks up words and represents the wholeness. Like the words of God, the words of the poet also construct their own subject and make its existence undeniable. There is a common notion about the poet that he is the son of Apollo but in fact, a poet is the son of Marsais, the rival of Apollo and his mournful voice echoes the eternal poetry and the rebellious essence of the poet too.So many things happen in this world in the restless hours; all these seem to happen in the impeccable gap of creation; such incidents are almost unknown to men. They hardly know how to ignite fire by rubbing stones or make weapons of stone for hunting. What happened in the universe when for the first time men came out of the cave to spend night? Were they able to soothe their pain and agony created by shadows and illusions? And lying on back , staring at the starry sky at night, they could not cross the deep secret river of creation by swimming. And Love! Love is the key to all worldly success. As God's love can be gained through love; love is almost same and true with poetry. The pursuit of beauty in poetry through the art of words is rooted in omnipotent love. This love is towards nature, towards the earth, towards man, in a word, towards the creative universe. If Sigmund Freud's philosophy theory is to be believed, the foundation of this love is towards the opposite sex. That is why the seeds of creation of mutual love and affection are between men and women and it is constantly flowing since the dawn of civilization. It is very natural that only love has the capability of crossing all the boundaries and reach everywhere to spread itself. Literature, specially poetry gradually becomes widespread. Within very short period so many brightest stars in sky of art and poetry have gathered under the canopy of "Munir Mezyed Foundation for Arts and Culture" in Romania for the purpose of global peace and harmony through the international poetic festival, " Odyssey Poetry Festival of World Poets, 2020 ".I am really proud to be the Editor of "Odyssey International Anthology For World Poet 2020". Editing such great Anthology with the poems of nearly 200 poets from the whole world is not an easy task but I have been able to accomplish my work due to the blessings and unconditional love of all.Mr. Munir Mezyed, the honourable President of "Munir Mezyed Foundation for Arts and Culture" is a symbol of Love and loyalty. Mr. Mezyed's contribution to global peace and harmony trough poetry is truly admirable. He deserves to receive Nobel Prize in Literature and Peace. We all will work together for him as well as for our mission. With my respect and cordial love.Nurul Hoque. The Editor.Odyssey International Anthology Of World Poets 2020&The Chief Coordinator Of Odyssey International Poetry Festival. Coffee: A Comprehensive Guide to the Bean, the Beverage, and the Industry offers a definitive guide to the many rich dimensions of the bean and the beverage around the world. Leading experts from business and academia consider coffee’s history, global spread, cultivation, preparation, marketing, and the environmental and social issues surrounding it today. They discuss, for example, the impact of globalization; the many definitions of organic, direct trade, and fair trade; the health of female farmers; the relationships among shade, birds, and coffee; roasting as an art and a science; and where profits are made in the commodity chain. Drawing on interviews and the lives of people working in the business—from pickers and roasters to coffee bar owners and consumers—this book brings a compelling human side to the story. The authors avoid romanticizing or demonizing any group in the business. They consider basic but widely misunderstood issues such as who adds value to the bean, the constraints of peasant life, and the impact of climate change. Moving beyond simple answers, they represent various participants in the supply chain and a range of opinions about problems and suggested solutions in the industry. Coffee offers a multidimensional examination of a deceptively everyday but extremely complex commodity that remains at the center of many millions of lives. Tracing coffee’s journey from field to cup, this handbook to one of the world’s favorite beverages is an essential guide for professionals, coffee lovers, and students alike.
