The complete transformation which philosophical thought in Germany has undergone in the last twenty-five years and the higher standpoint reached by spirit in its awareness of itself, have had but little influence as yet on the structure of logic. That which, prior to this period, was called metaphysics has been, so to speak, extirpated root and branch and has vanished from the ranks of the sciences. The ontology, rational psychology, cosmology, yes even natural theology, of former times-where is now to be heard any mention of them, or who would venture to mention them? Inquiries, for instance, into the immateriality of the soul, into efficient and final causes, where should these still arouse any interest? Even the former proofs of the existence of God are cited only for their historical interest or for purposes of edification and uplifting the emotions. The fact is that there no longer exists any interest either in the form or the content of metaphysics or in both together. If it is remarkable when a nation has become indifferent to its constitutional theory, to its national sentiments, its ethical customs and virtues, it is certainly no less remarkable when a nation loses its metaphysics, when the spirit which contemplates its own pure essence is no longer a present reality in the life of the nation. The exoteric teaching of the Kantian philosophy — that the understanding ought not to go beyond experience, else the cognitive faculty will become a theoretical reason which itself generates nothing but fantasies of the brain — this was a justification from a philosophical quarter for the renunciation of speculative thought. In support of this popular teaching came the cry of modern educationists that the needs of the time demanded attention to immediate requirements, that just as experience was the primary factor for knowledge, so for skill in public and private life, practice and practical training generally were essential and alone necessary, theoretical insight being harmful even. Philosophy [Wissenschaft] and ordinary common sense thus co-operating to bring about the downfall of metaphysics, there was seen the strange spectacle of a cultured nation without metaphysics-like a temple richly ornamented in other respects but without a holy of holies. Theology, which in former times was the guardian of the speculative mysteries and of metaphysics (although this was subordinate to it) had given up this science in exchange for feelings, for what was popularly matter-of-fact, and for historical erudition. In keeping with this change, there vanished from the world those solitary souls who were sacrificed by their people and exiled from the world to the end that the eternal should be contemplated and served by lives devoted solely thereto — not for any practical gain but for the sake of blessedness; a disappearance which, in another context, can be regarded as essentially the same phenomenon as that previously mentioned. So that having got rid of the dark utterances of metaphysics, of the colourless communion of the spirit with itself, outer existence seemed to be transformed into the bright world of flowers-and there are no black flowers, as we know.

Is God above logic? If so, is he irrational? Is God subservient to logic? If so, is he really omnipotent? These questions are similar to Socrates' infamous challenge to explaining God's relation to morality, the so-called Euthyphro dilemma. In this book McGlothlin argues that the Euthyphro challenge can be extended to help explain the relationship between God and logic, what he call the Logiphro dilemma. Logic, on this account, depends on aspects of God's mind other than God's will. This is a nonstandard form of theistic logical dependence. It contrasts both with the standard form of theistic logical dependence, according to which logic depends on God's will, and with theistic logical independence, according to which logic is independent of God. These rival views can be seen as the horns of the Logiphro dilemma: either logic depends on God's will, in which case special revelation would no longer be communicable; or logic is independent of God, in which case core claims of classical theism--for example, that God is the only independent being--would be violated. The best way to escape both of these horns, according to McGlothlin, is to adopt the nonstandard form of theistic logical dependence.

There are many attempts to explain the existence of the universe. Even the observable universe around us is filled with unknowns and numerous unexplainable phenomena, let alone the unobservable universe. Each and every theory proposed is just trying to find an explanation for the existence of the observable universe around us, ignoring the fact that it is potentially possible there is an invisible universe which reveals itself as we find newer ways to observe it. We need to first and foremost be able to abstract this universe as we observe it to be just a representation of something else underneath that is projected as this world around us by our descriptive thoughts. Then and only then can we find an explanation that is inclusive of everything that the universe is. As far as we search for the origin of just these appearances of descriptive thoughts, we will only dabble with physics, chemistry, mathematics and computations. It should be recognised that Wolfram introduces a very good concept. Simple things recurse to form complex worlds. But this without the correct transformation remains simply a recognisable pattern. How does this recognisable pattern go on to become this complex appearance of reality that we observe around us is up in the air. The ancient Sanskrit literature has an in-depth explanation of how this reality around us works and how it has come to be this. It just needs the correct context around which to translate these texts to understand it. For a long time I wondered what would be the best way to explain the algorithm of the universe as seen by the ancients and explained in the Sanskrit literature. I could explain it by using translation of the Sanskrit verses in a certain order. But I find that they do not take the reader on the journey that is necessary to understand and form the correct thoughts to understand the working of and creation of this reality around us. I thought I would write it as a description of astrology i.e., jyothiSha which, if we look at from the ancient view, is actually a science that tells us how to control the distribution of seeking which drives the formation of this reality around us and hence control this reality itself. But, I find that the term has been highly mangled with all sorts of meaning associated with it. I find, even if there was a very beautiful science explained it becomes very difficult to break these pre-conceived perceptions to get the reader to read objectively and understand. Finally, I have decided the best way is to use the computers that we have created and the AI algorithms that we are trying to code as the best way to describe it, because this was my primary driver to want to understand the Sanskrit literature and to debug the working of the universe. The underlying curiosity to understand why and how the AI that we write does not even seem to be a “fake imitation” of the working of the universe around us. The underlying curiosity to understand how this reality around me is so completely immersive while the virtual reality that we create does not even come near this immersive experience that we have with reality. The curiosity to understand if it is possible for us to create a hardware and software that comes even a little bit close to the kind of intelligence, knowledge and beauty in the algorithm of this reality around us. This has been my driver to decode and understand the Sanskrit literature. So, I find that is the best way to describe the algorithm. In this book I explain the algorithms proposed in the Sanskrit literatures for the working of this reality around us. I also compare these concepts to what we have currently present in computers and explain how they are different from what is explained in these books and why what we have in computers are not sufficient to create the AI that we want to create. Further, I try to put down my thoughts on how or what can be done to create a system that can be used to implement a AI system.
