Este es un texto de divulgación, que aspira a revisar panorámicamente el Derecho Colectivo del Trabajo a través de sus instituciones fundamentales, de una manera clara, ordenada y breve. Pretende ser una herramienta útil para que estudiantes y trabajadores cuenten con una primera aproximación a esta área. Entre los temas tratados, se desarrollan conceptos básicos como: la sindicación a partir de las definiciones dadas en el derecho internacional y el peruano, pasando por el comparado latinoamericano; la libertad sindical —en su ámbito individual y colectivo— y la relevancia de su protección en el ordenamiento a efectos de que la misma sea más una realidad que solo una declaración; la negociación colectiva y los elementos que la constituyen, sean estos sus sujetos, niveles, contenidos, procedimientos y productos; finalmente, el derecho a la huelga como medio de satisfacción de intereses colectivos de los trabajadores, tratándose de manera específica sus titulares, fines, modalidades, límites, ejercicio y efectos. Asimismo, en esta publicación han sido incluidas —a modo de anexos— normas de vital importancia en el Derecho Colectivo del Trabajo, como el TUO de la Ley de Relaciones colectivas de Trabajo, la Ley de Servicio Civil y sus respectivos reglamentos. JAVIER NEVES MUJICA. Abogado por la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (1982) y Magíster en Derecho Constitucional por la misma universidad (1990-1992). Es Docente del Departamento Académico de Derecho y de la Maestría en Derecho del Trabajo y de la Seguridad Social de la PUCP.
