In this book, we study theoretical and practical aspects of computing methods for mathematical modelling of nonlinear systems. A number of computing techniques are considered, such as methods of operator approximation with any given accuracy; operator interpolation techniques including a non-Lagrange interpolation; methods of system representation subject to constraints associated with concepts of causality, memory and stationarity; methods of system representation with an accuracy that is the best within a given class of models; methods of covariance matrix estimation;methods for low-rank matrix approximations; hybrid methods based on a combination of iterative procedures and best operator approximation; andmethods for information compression and filtering under condition that a filter model should satisfy restrictions associated with causality and different types of memory. As a result, the book represents a blend of new methods in general computational analysis, and specific, but also generic, techniques for study of systems theory ant its particularbranches, such as optimal filtering and information compression.- Best operator approximation,- Non-Lagrange interpolation,- Generic Karhunen-Loeve transform- Generalised low-rank matrix approximation- Optimal data compression- Optimal nonlinear filtering

Introduction To Queueing Systems With Telecommunication Applications written by Laszlo Lakatos and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-15 with Mathematics categories.
The book is composed of two main parts: mathematical background and queueing systems with applications. The mathematical background is a self containing introduction to the stochastic processes of the later studies queueing systems. It starts with a quick introduction to probability theory and stochastic processes and continues with chapters on Markov chains and regenerative processes. More recent advances of queueing systems are based on phase type distributions, Markov arrival processes and quasy birth death processes, which are introduced in the last chapter of the first part. The second part is devoted to queueing models and their applications. After the introduction of the basic Markovian (from M/M/1 to M/M/1//N) and non-Markovian (M/G/1, G/M/1) queueing systems, a chapter presents the analysis of queues with phase type distributions, Markov arrival processes (from PH/M/1 to MAP/PH/1/K). The next chapter presents the classical queueing network results and the rest of this part is devoted to the application examples. There are queueing models for bandwidth charing with different traffic classes, slotted multiplexers, ATM switches, media access protocols like Aloha and IEEE 802.11b, priority systems and retrial systems. An appendix supplements the technical content with Laplace and z transformation rules, Bessel functions and a list of notations. The book contains examples and exercises throughout and could be used for graduate students in engineering, mathematics and sciences.

Quasilinearization And Invariant Imbedding written by E. Stanley Lee and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-04 with Mathematics categories.
Mathematics in Science and Engineering, Volume 41: Quasilinearization and Invariant Imbedding presents a study on the use of two concepts for obtaining numerical solutions of boundary-value problems—quasilinearization and invariant imbedding. This book emphasizes that the invariant imbedding approach reformulates the original boundary-value problem into an initial value problem by introducing new variables or parameters, while the quasilinearization technique represents an iterative approach combined with linear approximations. This volume focuses on analytical aspects that are concerned with actual convergence rates and computational requirements, considering various efficient algorithms that are suited for various types of boundary-value problems. This publication is a good reference for chemical and control engineers and scientists interested in obtaining numerical solutions of boundary-value problems in their particular fields.

Comparison And Oscillation Theory Of Linear Differential Equations written by C. A. Swanson and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-03 with Mathematics categories.
Mathematics in Science and Engineering, Volume 48: Comparison and Oscillation Theory of Linear Differential Equations deals primarily with the zeros of solutions of linear differential equations. This volume contains five chapters. Chapter 1 focuses on comparison theorems for second order equations, while Chapter 2 treats oscillation and nonoscillation theorems for second order equations. Separation, comparison, and oscillation theorems for fourth order equations are covered in Chapter 3. In Chapter 4, ordinary equations and systems of differential equations are reviewed. The last chapter discusses the result of the first analog of a Sturm-type comparison theorem for an elliptic partial differential equation. This publication is intended for college seniors or beginning graduate students who are well-acquainted with advanced calculus, complex analysis, linear algebra, and linear differential equations.

Statistical Decision Theory In Adaptive Control Systems written by Yoshikazu Sawaragi and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-03 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Mathematics in Science and Engineering, Volume 39: Statistical Decision Theory in Adaptive Control Systems focuses on the combination of control theory with statistical decision theory. This volume is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 1 reviews the history of control theory and introduces statistical decision theory. The mathematical description of random processes is covered in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3, the basic concept of statistical decision theory is treated, while in Chapter 4, the method of solving statistical decision problems is described. The application of statistical decision concepts to control problems is explained in Chapter 5. Chapter 6 elaborates a method of designing an adaptive control system. An application of the sequential decision procedure to the design of decision adaptive control systems is illustrated in Chapter 7. Chapter 8 is devoted to the description of a method of the adaptive adjustment of parameters contained in nonlinear control systems, followed by a discussion of the future problems in applications of statistical decision theory to control processes in the last chapter. This book is recommended for students and researchers concerned with statistical decision theory in adaptive control systems.
