Preterism is the belief that the majority, if not all, of the eschatological passages in the New Testament have already been fulfilled in the first century. Although there are some needed correctives that preterism provides when interpreting eschatological statements in the Synoptic Gospels, the interpretive methodologies employed are largely plagued with exegetical and logical fallacies. On top of these, the genre of apocalyptic is often completely lost on the modern interpreter and as a result leads to numerous non sequiturs made when it comes to the nature and time of biblical eschatology. This book seeks to correct these hermeneutical missteps by providing exegetical principles that may help guide the reader to a more biblically sound conclusion concerning the timing and nature of biblical eschatology.

Baptism written by Jack Cottrell and has been published by College Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1989 with Religion categories.

"Scripture is far from silent on the subject of baptism, yet history is strewn with such a variety of perspectives that it becomes difficult to gain a clear view of what the Bible itself actually has to say: How would the original readers of Acts, Romans, or Colossians have understood the texts concerning baptism when they read them for the very first time? How do readers of today understand the baptismal references of the New Testament if they have no particular commitment to a certain theological point of view? In thirteen chapters, Dr. Cottrell discusses the twelve major texts in the New Testament and does so by examining the meaning of the original words, the historical background, and the comparative references. The texts covered: Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-16, John 3:3-5, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:3-4, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 3:26-27, Ephesians 5:25-27, Colossians 2:11-13, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 3:21"--P. Preterism is believing that all the prophecies about the end time have been fulfilled. There are two primary views of preterism: the first is full or total preterism and the second is called partial preterism. Followers of the full/total preterism view believe that all the prophecies concerning the end time were fulfilled by 70 A.D., during the time of the generation that was alive when Jesus Christ was crucified. Partial preterists believe that all the prophecies in Revelation chapters one through nineteen were fulfilled by 70 A.D. when the Temple was destroyed by the Romans. However, partial preterists believe that the rapture described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 has not happened yet. Learn what Preterists believe about Mystery Babylon and the six Biblical clues that identify Mystery Babylon.

He writes in a direct and lucid style that will help ministers, students and laymen alike to a clear understanding of this Confession and to its relevance and application to our modern age. This exposition was originally published in 1989 to mark the 300th anniversary of the publication of the Second London Confession, which also became known as the '1689 Baptist Confession of Faith'. Today, reformed Baptists world-wide hold this Confession in high esteem and many churches continue to regard it as their official statement of faith. After being one of the pastors of the Reformed Baptist Church of Grand Rapids for almost 24 years, Sam Waldron is now attending Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where in May of 2005 he will complete a Ph. D. in Systematic Theology. With his wife, he is a member of Heritage Baptist Church, a Reformed Baptist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky where in January 2005 he became one of the pastors.

"And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever" (Daniel 2:44). The message of Daniel is that Jesus the Messiah is now ruling over the nations. Daniel tells us that Messiah's kingdom will advance in the whole world from "generation to generation" (Daniel 4:4,34). Christ's dominion is "given to the people of the saints of the most High" (Daniel 7:22). Our purpose then is to see "all people, nations, and languages serve and obey him" (Daniel 7:14,27). "This meticulously researched and thorough treatment of Daniel from a preterist perspective includes over 700 pages of commentary, historical background and setting, New Testament allusions, and much more. It is enhanced with charts, tables, maps, illustrations, and topped off with helpful, thorough indexes." - Kenneth L. Gentry, Jr., Th.D.

Understanding End Times Prophecy written by Paul Benware and has been published by Moody Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-05-01 with Religion categories.

Many Christians think of end times prophecy as a gigantic, intimidating puzzle -- difficult to piece together and impossible to figure out. But every puzzle can be solved if you approach it the right way. Paul Benware compares prophecy to a picture puzzle. Putting the edge pieces together first builds the 'framework' that makes it easier to fit the other pieces in their place. According to Benware, the framework for eschatology is the biblical covenants. He begins his comprehensive survey by explaining the major covenants. Then he discusses several different interpretations of end times prophecy. Benware digs into the details of the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the judgements and resurrections, and the millennial kingdom. But he also adds a unique, personal element to the study, answering questions as: -Why study bible prophecy? -What difference does it make if I'm premillenial or amillenial? If what the Bible says about the future puzzles you, Understanding End Times Prophecy will help you put together the pieces and see the big picture.

At the 2007 Shepherds' Conference, Pastor John MacArthur delivered a controversial message entitled, "Why Every Self-Respecting Calvinist is a Premillennialist". In this book, Dr. Sam Waldron addresses the assertions of MacArthur historically, exegetically and theologically. Although his arguments are rigorous, the entire tenor of the book is level-headed and irenic. This "friendly response" grants modern day Amillennialists the opportunity to thoughtfully engage their Dispensational brethren.
