This book presents short papers of participants of the 9th International Scientific Conference-School for Young Scientists «Physical and Mathematical Modeling of Earth and Environment Processes. A special focus is given to the extraction of hydrocarbon resources, including from unconventional sources. An alternative to the use of hydrocarbons as a main source of energy on the Planet in the coming decades is unlikely to be found. At the same time, the resource base of hydrocarbons is quickly depleted, in particularly, large and accessible oil and gas fields. The shale oil and gas, Arctic hydrocarbon stocks, gas hydrates, coal bed methane, oil and gas from deep horizons can become new sources. "Deep oil" may be the most promising source of expanding the resource base of hydrocarbons according to many experts. New technologies are required to their development. Efficient low-cost technologies can be created on the basis of geomechanical approach, i.e., through the use of a huge elastic energy stored in the rock massif due to rock pressure. The creation of new breakthrough approaches to the development of hydrocarbon fields is very important in today's geopolitical conditions and requires the involvement of young minds and strength. International activities, including the youth scientific schools, can become an effective tool for exchange of information and the organizing of interdisciplinary research of processes in geo-environment. The book presents the new results of the experimental and theoretical modeling of deformation, fracture, and filtration processes in the rocks in connection to issues of creating scientific fundamentals for new hydrocarbon production technologies. The investigations of the dependence of well stability and permeability of rocks on the stress-strain state in conditions of deep horizons and high rock pressure are also represented.

The book presents short papers of participants of the 10th International Scientific Conference and School for Young Scientists «Physical and Mathematical Modeling of Earth and Environment Processes. The book includes theoretical and experimental studies of processes in the atmosphere, oceans, the lithosphere and their interaction; environmental issues; problems of human impact on the environment; methods of geophysical research. Research of the dynamic of natural systems - geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and their interactions, the human contribution to naturally occurring processes are among the most urgent and practically important scientific problems. Intensive development of research in these areas is due to several factors. The widespread introduction of computer technology has allowed beginning calculation of complex phenomena, previously unavailable for analysis. Creation and improvement of a new generation of geophysical instruments, remote observing systems based on the ship, aircraft, and satellite allowed us to obtain a large amount of data to objectively reflect the picture of the processes. The articles included in these book reflect also an important role of the laboratory modeling in searching of processes in geo-environments and testing of new developed physical and mathematical models. Development of measurement, optic information and other techniques provide new opportunities to perform controllable and reproducible laboratory data for generations of new ideas and concepts. Systematic stream of high resolution laboratory data stimulates development of analytical and numerical models of the dynamical processes in three nature environments. A special focus is given to the extraction of hydrocarbon resources, including from unconventional sources. This book includes new results of theoretical and experimental studies of various scales of the processes occurring on the earth including the lithosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere. Intensive development of research in these areas is due to several factors: 1) the widespread introduction of computer technology, allowing the calculation of complex phenomena, 2) the invention and improvement of a new generation of geophysical instruments such as remote observation systems based on ships, aircraft, and satellites, providing a large amount of data to objectively reflect a broad picture of the processes, 3) the development of measurement techniques, creating opportunities for controllable and reproducible laboratory data acquisition for generation of new ideas and concepts. Their recent developments have facilitated our research and understanding of these academic fields. The book enriches the understanding of the geophysical processes taking place in various environments (lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere), including the anthropogenic one, and it further contributes to their development. This collected research is a valuable resource for specialists working in the oil, gas, and engineering industry to improve their understandings of the field.

Variation Principle In Informational Macrodynamics written by Vladimir S. Lerner and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Computers categories.

Information Macrodynamics (IMD) belong to an interdisciplinary science that represents a new theoretical and computer-based methodology for a system informational descriptionand improvement, including various activities in such areas as thinking, intelligent processes, communications, management, and other nonphysical subjects with their mutual interactions, informational superimposition, and theinformation transferredbetweeninteractions. The IMD is based on the implementation of a single concept by a unique mathematical principle and formalism, rather than on an artificial combination of many arbitrary, auxiliary concepts and/or postulates and different mathematical subjects, such as the game, automata, catastrophe, logical operations theories, etc. This concept is explored mathematically using classical mathematics as calculus of variation and the probability theory, which are potent enough, without needing to developnew, specifiedmathematical systemicmethods. The formal IMD model automatically includes the related results from other fields, such as linear, nonlinear, collective and chaotic dynamics, stability theory, theory of information, physical analogies of classical and quantum mechanics, irreversible thermodynamics, andkinetics. The main IMD goal is to reveal the information regularities, mathematically expressed by the considered variation principle (VP), as a mathematical tool to extractthe regularities and define the model, whichdescribes theregularities. The IMD regularities and mechanisms are the results of the analytical solutions and are not retained by logical argumentation, rational introduction, and a reasonable discussion. The IMD's information computer modeling formalism includes a human being (as an observer, carrier and producer ofinformation), witha restoration of the model during the objectobservations.

This book is the result of collaboration within the frames of the 5th International Conference "Trigger Effects in Geosystems" held in the Institute of Geosphere Dynamics of Russian Academy of Sciences, June 2019. This book aims to raise awareness about different triggering aspects in the geosphere and its effects. The conference provided a multidisciplinary platform with a focus on (i) the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors on the geosphere, geomechanical systems and anthropogenic objects found in a subcritical state and (ii) the influence of these factors on the system “atmosphere - ionosphere”. The problems considered in the book may be interesting for a wide audience including students, professionals, researches, and for the industry.
