Pričujoče delo se ukvarja z vprašanjem organizacije kamnoseške proizvodnje nagrobnih spomenikov na prostoru notranjega dela nekdanje rimske province Dalmacije. Cilj raziskave je bil prepoznati model kamnoseške proizvodnje, ki se je oblikoval na goratem in težko prehodnem območju, kjer so možnosti vodnega transporta kamnitega materiala minimalne. Avtorica izhajala iz predpostavke, da so se v času rimske oblasti na nekaterih geografskih območji oblikovala proizvodna središča, ki so za svoje delovanje uporabljala lokalne vira apnenca. Študija zajema nagrobne spomenike odkrite na prostoru današnje Bosne in Hercegovine in zahodnega dela Srbije in Črne gore. S kombinacijo metod makroskopske petrografske analize kamnin in tipološke analize ter prostorske analize je pokazala na obstoj več proizvodnih središč. Rezultati analiz kažejo na zelo verjetno možnost, da so izkoriščali lokalne vire apnenca. Epigrafski podatki pa so omogočili njihov obstoj tudi časovno opredeliti.

"ROMAN TOWN AT SARAJEVO AREA - CHRESTOMATHY" is a work in which (published and unpublished) results of archaeological and historiographical research of the Sarajevo area in the era of classical Greco-Roman civilization are collected. On the basis of current knowledge, we can speak of a significant civilizational development marked by the existence of the unit of municipal autonomy res publica Aquarum. This republic had its administrative and urban center in the current settlement of Lužani in the west of today's Sarajevo. It can be assumed that Aquae had a gradual development with a strong native influence of the Illyrian nation Daesitiates who inhabited Upper Bosnia and had their own peregrine civitas. The acceptance of Roman citizenship largely affected the Sarajevo area in the course of II. century AD. Res publica Aquarum had its own institutions and its own elite, which for the most part was descended from the local Daesitiates elite. This is evidenced by the found epigraphic monuments as well as the finds of villa rustica in the wider Sarajevo area. The area that belonged to the res publica Aquarum offers great possibilities and potential for future scientific research in order to shed even more light on the history of the Sarajevo area during the time of Roman rule. It is precisely for the purpose of these future researches that this Chrestomathy was created, which is intended to represent the basic document with which these researches begin. The book "Roman Town on Sarajevo Area. Chrestomathy" offers a selection of texts from literature (published from 1880 to the present day), a selection of ancient materials and sources and some new researchs related to the phenomenon of the res publica Aquarum, the oldest known territorial-administrative unit that included the Sarajevo area as well as its administrative and urban seat called Aq(ua?e), and the oldest urban stratum in the Sarajevo area. The goal of this chrestomathy about this ancient roman town and municipality (res publica) is collecting in one place as much as possible of previous knowledge, articles, papers, sources, material in order to facilitate, I hope, new research and discoveries in the near future. The selection of works and material in this chrestomathy is the result of my personal assessment.

Monografija je posvečena manjšim rimskim naseljem, ki ležijo na območju današnje Slovenije, kamor so segale tri velike upravne enote rimske države: Italija ter provinci Norik in Zgornja Panonija. V samostojnih poglavjih je zgoščeno in po skupnem konceptu predstavljenih dvajset naselij različnega tipa in stopnje raziskanosti. Podatki so umeščeni v prostor, podprti s kartami in načrti, vsebinsko primerljivi in jasno ovrednoteni. Vsako poglavje vsebuje podatke o legi naselja in njegovem antičnem imenu, kratko zgodovino raziskav, morebitno obljudenost lokacije v prazgodovini, predstavitev antičnih literarnih virov in epigrafskih spomenikov. Osrednji del je usmerjen v pregled arheoloških ostankov rimske dobe: v topografijo, infrastrukturo, stavbe, grobišča in premične ostanke posebnega pomena. Sledijo podatki o statusu naselja, o družbenem položaju posameznih prebivalcev, njihovih administrativnih ali vojaških funkcijah, poklicih in etnični pripadnosti. Vsako poglavje zaokroža oris zgodovinskega razvoja naselja. Predstavljena so: Fluvio Frigido - Kastra, Ad Pirum, Longatik, Navport, Vipava, Gradišče nad Knežakom, Ulaka, Ig, Mengeš, Karnij, Šmartno pri Cerkljah, Blagovica, Atrans, Šempeter v Savinski dolini, Kolaciona, Zagrad, Slovenska Bistrica, Ančnikovo gradišče, Pretorij Latobikov in Romula. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The book discusses the minor settlements that dotted the territory of present-day Slovenia in the Roman period. This geographically diverse territory was crossed by important lines of communication and divided between three large administrative units of the Roman state: Italy and the provinces of Noricum and Upper Pannonia. Twenty-six authors wrote contributions on individual settlements in a comprehensive and clear manner roughly following a common concept. The presentation of each settlement opens with its location and name in Antiquity, possible habitation traces from prehistory, mentions in ancient literary texts and documents, and recovered epigraphic evidence. The next, main part offers an overview of the archaeological remains from the Roman period: topography, infrastructure, buildings, cemeteries and portable remains of particular significance. This is followed by the information on the status of a settlement, social standing of its inhabitants, their administrative or military functions, as well as professional or ethnical background. All is brought together in an outline of the historical development of each settlement.

Bringing together the analyses of the literary world-system, translation studies, and the research of European cultural nationalism, this book contests the view that texts can be attributed global importance irrespective of their origin, language, and position in the international book market. Focusing on Slovenian literature, almost unknown to world literature studies, this book addresses world literature’s canonical function in the nineteenth-century process of establishing European letters as national literatures. Aware of their dependence on imperial powers, (semi)peripheral national movements sought international recognition through, among other things, the newly invented figure of the national poet. Writers central to dependent national communities were canonized to represent their respective cultures to the norm-giving Other – the emerging world literary canon and its aesthetic ideology. Hence, national literatures asserted their linguo-cultural individuality through the process of worlding; that is, by their positioning in the international literary world informed by the supposed universality of the aesthetic.
