At seventeen-years-old, he built his Black Crime Syndicate from the bottom, and morphed into the Buffalo City Czar. Set in the late eighties to the early nineties Julius Caesar takes the country by storm and builds a mafia powerful enough to rival the Italian mob and the United States Government.

Gower Handbook Of Discrimination At Work written by Dr Hazel Conley and has been published by Gower Publishing, Ltd. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-09-28 with Law categories.

Workplace discrimination is an experience that, despite four decades of equality legislation, continues to blight the lives of thousands every year. Discrimination persists on the protected grounds of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief and gender reassignment, as well as where no legal protection exists such as in relation to class background or migration status. The Handbook discusses recent changes in equality legislation as well as considering the limitations of legal frameworks in addressing inequality. However, complying with the law is only the first step towards addressing discrimination in the workplace, and the book goes beyond the law and provides evidence of good practice in promoting organisational culture change, as well as considering future directions for policy on equality action. The Gower Handbook of Discrimination at Work looks at both social justice and business case perspectives, and its message is not a negative one. The contributors have considerable depth of understanding of workplace discrimination, both as academics and equality practitioners, their work has contributed to policy formation and all are committed to improving the lives of people at work. They offer insights into existing international developments and make suggestions for the ways in which positive change can be realised. Practitioners, such as human resources professionals and other managers involved in addressing equality at work, trade unionists, equality trainers, and academics concerned with researching or teaching in the areas of employment and equality will all find this book of interest. Furthermore, it will be of value to students in the fields of business and management, employment law, equality and diversity and human resource management.

The Private Finance Initiative (PFI) ? the use of private funds to build public sector infrastructure ? began in 1992. Since then it has been one of the most contentious policies advocated by both Conservative and Labour governments. After 25 years of costly failure the policy has now been abandoned by Labour and Tory parties. 125 British PFIs are NHS projects, which will cost over ?80 billion for buildings built for ?12bn. Many PFI companies are now owned offshore, paying no tax on profits, while the extra costs of PFI hang like a millstone dragging down NHS trusts. Unhealthy Profits explores the theory and practice, costs and consequences of PFI, how it has spread world-wide, and what can be done about it. And as a unique case study, it tells the story of the UNISON Branch in Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust that has commissioned the book ? and fought PFI all the way.

"A masterpiece ahead of its time, a prescient rendering of new thought on emotion , and the inspiration for a romantic future."--Book Review ConciergeIn 2066, Dr. Paulina Kochanowska, a neuroscientist in her sixties is under house arrest. The pilot experiment that she had installed began damaging some of its participants. The experiment, Project Unison, is being investigated by the national ethics council. While locked in her Geneva, Switzerland home, a young writer, Emma Printemps, comes to interview her for a biography.During the interview sessions, Dr. Kochanowska, reminisces upon the many neuroinnovations she has created over the years. For instance, sleep cuing for learning and problem solving, dream engineering for un-learning and changing habits, the matching algorithm for finding the right life partner, and all the AI (artificial intelligence) that's gone into creating her companion affective robot, Salvatore. Before the end, the doctor discloses the details about this current brave undertaking that decodes and transfers the action of several brains to one connected network. All along, the doctor is experiencing some recall problems while the network evolves. She doesn't remember the beginning of the last project and is confused about how she has helped create the affective robot. Was it her who did it, at all? Turns out that she is the victim of her most recent experiment and has started losing memory after a marked event that happened just a few weeks before. Eventually, the questioning leads the doctor to come to understand her condition and Emma finally reveals the true reason for her presence in Kochanowska¿s home prison.
