Youth unemployment and joblessness are major issues for national governments and international organizations across the globe. En este documento se revisan, con una visión de conjunto, las principales tendencias económicas, sociales y ambientales en los contextos mundial y regional que inciden en la implementación de los ODS en América Latina y el Caribe y se evalúa prospectivamente el avance hacia sus metas mediante 72 series estadísticas de los indicadores de los ODS en la región. En todos los análisis, se incorporan elementos referentes a los efectos de la COVID-19 (coronavirus) en la medida permitida por la información disponible en la última semana de marzo de 2020, siempre reconociendo que la incertidumbre sobre el comportamiento de las variables económicas y sociales obliga a ser cautos en la interpretación de las previsiones de corto y mediano plazo.

Since 2007 and the economic meltdown caused by the financial crisis, our societies have been evolving in different ways.
