Historia i mit (wyd. oryg. 2005) Autor otrzymał w 2008 r. nagrodę literacką im. Georga Dehio. W tymże roku opublikował również: Kalte Heimat. Die Geschichte der deutschen Vertriebenen nach 1945, a także Damals in Ostpreußen. Der Untergang einer deutschen Provinz.
