Esta obra está compuesta por once capítulos, dividida en dos áreas: Psicología y Sociedad. El primer capítulo asociación entre el miedo al delito, la legitimidad policiaca y medidas preventivas en jóvenes del noroeste de México. Del cual reportan que si existe una relación a ser víctima de un delito sobre la incidencia de casos violentos en hombres. El segundo capítulo refiere la violencia en la relación de pareja, cuyo objetivo fue conocer la relación entre los celos y la violencia, reportando que en esta muestra no existió una correlación significativa, por lo cual recomiendan seguir investigando en otras muestras. En el capítulo tres podrán conocer sobre la influencia de un programa que tiene como propósito entender la autoestima y el rendimiento académico con una muestra de universitarios, reportando resultados positivos entre estas dos variables. El capítulo cuatro nombrado comprendiendo las conductas sociales en internet como una revisión sistemática sobre factores vinculados a la conformidad social online, destacan la necesidad de construir un modelo integrativo y multifactorial para lograr y conocer los verdaderos factores relacionados con este tema. En el capítulo 5 dedicado al reto de la soledad en la vejez realizaron una revisión a través de diferentes bases de datos, algunos de sus hallazgos hicieron referencia a que el sentimiento de soledad conlleva un consumo excesivo de alcohol, lo cual puede llevar a un deterioro cognitivo y mental en esa fase de la vida. El capítulo 6 que es el último correspondiente al área de la Psicología, hace una relación entre la calidad de vida y medio ambiente en adultos del noroeste de México, sugiriendo que cualquier tipo de mejora, se debe considerar la erradicación de la pobreza, así como tener en cuenta los desafíos ecológicos que lleve al equilibrio entre el medio ambiente y el hombre. El área sociedad está compuesta por 5 trabajos. Uno de ellos es el capítulo siete, el cual está dirigido a un estudio antropológico partiendo de un concepto sistémico y multidisciplinar del carnaval. Aportando que es un proceso que va más allá del conocimiento y celebración de una fiesta de carácter local y que alcanza un estatus de creatividad musical y cultural, seguido por miles de fans en cualquier punto del planeta. El trabajo que corresponde al capítulo ocho estudia a la persona como proceso emocional y cognitivo a través de una síntesis de teorías psicosociológicas y neurológicas. Concluyendo que las síntesis de las distintas disciplinas permiten avanzar en el entendimiento de las personas, sociedad y cultura como procesos definitivamente emocionales y cognitivos. En el capítulo nueve se realiza una perspectiva de género en los procesos de judicialización y socialización de las adolescentes en conflicto con la ley en una comunidad de valencia, dirigida a la mujer adolescente infractora. Llegan a diferentes conclusiones, por mencionar alguno, mencionan que los delitos están relacionados con aspectos psicológicos y emocionales. El uso de las redes sociales y el bienestar de los universitarios conforman el capítulo número diez, del cual llevaron a cabo una revisión bibliográfica, concluyendo que las tecnologías son una herramienta para salvaguardar la educación, la economía global y la calidad de vida sobre todo en estas situaciones imprevistas como pueden ser las pandemias. Por último, el capítulo once cierra este libro con el tema ruta de servicios de atención para gestantes y primer año de vida, en un distrito de lima. El cual tuvo como objetivo identificar las percepciones acerca de las limitaciones y fortalezas de estas variables, llegaron a varias conclusiones, entre ellas que las respuestas ineficaces de los servicios pueden generar fugas al mismo, porque las necesidades que no pueden ser cubiertas por el estado son aprovechadas por servicios privados a los que se accede a través de pagos monetarios. Como puede observarse, este libro está conformado por once grandes trabajos en áreas y temas de actualidad y que puede llevarnos a visualizar diferentes problemas que están sucediendo en diferentes partes del mundo, pero que a su vez nos proporcionan alternativas, sugerencias que se pueden replicar y poner en práctica para mejorar y contribuir al bienestar psicológico y social de un individuo o de una sociedad.

Son diversas las temáticas que se analizan, actitudes hacia la muerte, motivación hacia la práctica deportiva y salud mental por confinamiento en tiempos de pandemia por Covid-19. Otros relacionados con las prácticas de crianza como uso de prácticas de crianza de madres con niños con síndrome de Down, detección temprana como prevención de dificultades de aprendizaje y búsqueda de relación entre el estilo de crianza y el apego en adultos tempranos. Además, se comprueba la eficacia de un programa de autoestima en universitarios, aplicaciones de la realidad virtual en el alcoholismo y valoración de tiktok como canal informativo y divulgativo en la atención prenatal y temprana del bebé. También se realizan estudios sobre la existencia de discriminación laboral hacia personas trans, o conductas desfavorables hacia la conducta suicida, o de cómo la culpa puede llegar a ser una emoción favorecedora de la satisfacción marital, además de correlatos entre el funcionamiento familiar y depresión en mujeres envejecidas, así como la valoración del nivel de inteligencia emocional en jóvenes universitarios. Asimismo, se comprueban los resultados de una intervención cognitiva en una persona mayor con deterioro cognitivo, se analiza la resiliencia y funcionamiento familiar de padres con adolescentes con consumo de alcohol, y se reflexiona acerca del comer emocional y su relación con los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria. Por último, se incorporan dos revisiones bibliográficas, una sobre el vínculo de apego adulto, y otra sobre la diversidad funcional visual y la imagen corporal. Invito al lector a la lectura y reflexión de estos trabajos e investigaciones que forman parte de un continuo de las investigaciones, dentro de la psicología como ciencia, en el siglo XXI… del prólogo.

Argentinean philosopher, theologian, and historian Enrique Dussel understands the present international order as divided into the "culture of the center" -- by which he means the ruling elite of Europe, North America, and Russia -- and "the peoples of the periphery" -- by which he means the populations of Latin America, Africa, and part of Asia, and the oppressed classes (including women and children) throughout the world. In 'Philosophy of Liberation,' he presents a profound analysis of the alienation of peripheral peoples resulting from the imperialism of the center for more than five centuries. Dussel's aim is to demonstrate that the center's historic cultural, military, and economic domination of poor countries is 'philosophically' founded on North Atlantic onthology. By expressing supposedly universal knowledge, European philosophies, argues Dussel, have served to equate the cultural standards, modes of behavior, and rationalistic orientation of the West with human nature and to condemn the unique characteristics of peripheral peoples as "nonbeing, nothing, chaos, irrationality." Hence, Western philosophies have historically legitimated and hidden the domination that oppressed cultures have suffered at the hands of the center. Dussel probes multinational corporations, the communications media, and the armies of the center with their counterparts among the Third World elite. The creation of a just world order in the future, according to Dussel, hinges on the liberation of the periphery, based on a philosophy that is able to "think the world" from the perspective of the poor and to reclaim the Third World's distinct cultural inheritance, which is imbedded in the popular cultures of the poor. Apart from the liberation of the periphery, there will be no future: "the center will feed itself on the sameness it has ingrained within itself. The death of the child, of the poor, will be its own death." This is a disquieting but stimulating book for scholars and advanced students of philosophy, ethics, liberation theology, and global politics.
