Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have become a critical tool for social development and impact. By combining the resources, innovation, and efficiency of the private sector with the public sector’s practices in inclusivity, equity, and long-term social goals, PPPs can address complex social challenges. These partnerships are valuable in sectors like healthcare, education, and infrastructure, where high investment and expertise are needed to meet the needs of underserved populations. As global issues like poverty, inequality, and climate change demand collaborative approaches, PPPs offer a creative model for sustainable, inclusive development that delivers tangible benefits to communities. Understanding how these partnerships operate, and their potential for transformative social impact, is crucial for harnessing their full potential. Public Private Partnerships for Social Development and Impact examines how governments can integrate public and private sector practices to improve education, healthcare, and business organizations. It explores the social impact of public-private partnerships, including updated policymaking, climate impact acknowledgement, and sustainable infrastructure and development. This book covers topics such as knowledge management, personalized education, and culture studies, and is a useful resource for business owners, policymakers, sociologists, educators, academicians, researchers, and scientists.

Integrating Human Social And Sustainable Development written by Leon Miller and has been published by Ethics International Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-01-11 with Political Science categories.

The conviction that the basic intent of social activity is to realize the goal that human social action aims to achieve, is fundamental to political thinking, practice, and philosophy. This book proposes a model for realizing this goal, by employing fundamental socio-political principles for establishing stable relations between citizens, social order, solidarity, cohesion, harmony, good will, prosperity, and sustainable peace. In other words, the major centers of civilization regard socio-political philosophy as a prescription for human development (i.e., developing the capabilities of individuals and enabling them to realize desired functionings) and social development. Capabilities are defined as qualities that enable individuals to convert primary social goods into the value “ends” that enable them to live well. Developing capabilities provides substantive freedom to choose a life one has reason to value, as well as the ability to realize desired functionings, as Amartya Kumar Sen puts it. Functionings are the states of being that enable people to live with dignity or the substantive opportunity to achieve the things they value doing or being.

Setting Foundations For The Creation Of Public Value In Smart Cities written by Manuel Pedro Rodriguez Bolivar and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-02-12 with Political Science categories.

This book seeks to contribute to prior research facing the discussion about public value creation in Smart Cities and the role of governments. In the early 21st century, the rapid transition to a highly urbanized population has made societies and their governments around the world to be meeting unprecedented challenges regarding key themes such as sustainability, new governance models and the creation of networks. Also, cities today face increasing challenges when it comes to providing advanced (digital) services to their constituency. The use of information and communication technologies (usually ICTs) and data is thought to rationalize and improve government and have the potential to transform governance and organizational issues. These questions link up to the ever-evolving concept of Smart Cities. In fact, the rise of the Smart City and Smart City thinking is a direct response to such challenges, as well as providing a means of integrating fast evolving technology into our living environment. This focus on the public value creation in Smart Cities could be of interest for academics, researchers, policy-makers, public managers, international organizations and technical experts involved in and responsible for the governance, development and design of Smart Cities

This is an open access book. Culture is the spiritual activity and product of human society relative to economy and politics. The traditional concept of human beings believes that culture is a social phenomenon, a product created by human beings for a long time, and at the same time a historical phenomenon, which is the accumulation of human society and history. The technical, economical and cultural nature of art design determines that only with high social and economic development can art and culture flourish. Art design is the product of the combination of art and technology. Art design is also a kind of productivity, which promotes the development of social economy. As a driving factor for social and economic development, design art will also better serve the social economy with its own more perfect operating system. The purpose of CDSD 2024 is to provide an international platform for experts, scholars, engineers and technicians, and technical R&D personnel engaged in related fields such as "culture", "design" and "social development", to share scientific research results, broaden research ideas, collide with new ideas, and strengthen academic research, and to explore the key challenges and research directions faced by the development of this field, and promote the industrialization cooperation of academic achievements. The solution to the significant modern problems that impede the development of human society demands a cultural evolution based on knowledge. All the necessary disciplinary tools already exist; it is only essential to organize them into a coherent interdisciplinary complexity encompassing natural, social, and human sciences. However, ignorance, in its most modern forms, conveniently disperses the diversity of disciplinary knowledge, transforming complementary differences into conflicts, the potential of diversity into the injustice of prejudice, and the power of complexity into the realm of complication. Human beings have the capacity to imagine and innovate their own future, to solve and dissolve with enlightenment the problems they have created in their ignorance, to liberate themselves and take responsibility, to develop values, and to create a coherent and objective vision of the world. They can imagine and build a synergy of personal and social futures, developing both in a sustainable way. Modern interdisciplinary knowledge clearly shows that the future of humanity can be bright if it manages to consistently integrate natural, social, and human knowledge, overcoming the power of modern forms of ignorance that separate them and create artificial conflicts.
