The heat rises fast when the wildfire burns. “Buchman writes with beauty and passion... The flames of passion burn brightly in this meticulously researched, hard-hitting, and suspenseful contemporary. Best 10 romance of the spring.” – Publishers Weekly Carly Thomas could read burn patterns before she knew the alphabet. A third-generation forest fire specialist who lost both her father and her fiancé to the flames, she’s learned to live life like she fights fires: with her emotions shut down. Former smokejumper Steve “Merks” Mercer can no longer parachute in to battle the fire, but he can still join the fight with his all-seeing drone. When they take to the skies to battle the worst wildfire in decades and discover a terrorist threat hidden deep in the Oregon wilderness—it’s the heat between them that truly sizzles. “A heavy hitter and worth every minute.” – Long and Short Reviews “Like Robert Ludlum and Nora Roberts got together and had a book baby.” – Parajunkee [Can be read stand-alone or in series. A complete happy-ever-after with no cliffhangers. Originally published in 2014. Building Heat Transfer written by Morris Grenfell Davies and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-06-25 with Technology & Engineering categories.

A third or more of the energy consumption of industrialized countries is expended on creating acceptable thermal and lighting conditions in buildings. As a result, building heat transfer is keenly important to the design of buildings, and the resulting analytical theory forms the basis of most design procedures. Analytical Theory of Building Heat Transfer is the first comprehensive reference of its kind, a one-volume compilation of current findings on heat transfer relating to the thermal behavior of buildings, forming a logical basis for current design procedures.

The demand for energy to satisfy the basic needs and services of the population worldwide is increasing as are the economic costs associated with energy production. As such, it is essential to emphasize energy recovery systems to improve heat transfer in thermal processes. Currently, significant research efforts are being conducted to expose criteria and analysis techniques for the design of heat exchange equipment. This book discusses optimization of heat exchangers, heat transfer in novel working fluids, and the experimental and numerical analysis of heat transfer applications.

Entransy written by XueTao Cheng and has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-05-25 with Science categories.

In this book, the author introduces an alternative perspective to understand thermal phenomena, the concept of entransy and its relevant principles, applications and extensions, which have been widely used in the analyses and optimizations of many transport processes. The scientific significance and application value of the theory have been clearly demonstrated. The theory is inevitably questioned, and there are even accusations that are not academically valid. These controversies are also introduced and discussed comprehensively. This book is an introduction to the entransy theory; the author has only selected a few cases that are sufficient to show the advantages and necessity of the application of the theory. This book is helpful to the undergraduates, graduates, teachers, engineers, scientists and researchers in thermal science and engineering.

Efficient Strategy To Support Renewable Energy written by Helge Sigurd Næss-Schmidt and has been published by Nordic Council of Ministers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-05-21 with Business & Economics categories.

This report reviews how the Nordic countries can develop a strategy for renewable energy that delivers efficiently on the two underlying policy objectives of climate change and energy security challenges. The overarching elements in the evaluation of existing polices and the policy recommendations that follows from the analysis falls into three main parts: (i) Expanding renewable energy is not an end in itself, but a tool to deliver on the two real policy targets: climate change and energy security; (ii) Too much policy focus at the Nordic and EU level is dedicated to boost renewable energy share of energy production in the near term, and insufficient resources are allocated to develop future low carbon technologies, which are required when CO2 abatement targets become more ambitious; (iii) The long term nature of the challenges and huge investments in low carbon technologies required to deliver on long term targets puts a very high premium on policies that reduces policy risks as perceived by investors.
