The book discusses set-valued differential equations defined in terms of the Hukuhara derivative. Focusing on equations with uncertainty, i.e., including an unknown parameter, it introduces a regularlization method to handle them. The main tools for qualitative analysis are the principle of comparison of Chaplygin – Wazhewsky, developed for the scalar, vector and matrix-valued Lyapunov functions and the method of nonlinear integral inequalities, which are used to establish existence, stability or boundedness. Driven by the question of how to model real processes using a set-valued of differential equations, the book lays the theoretical foundations for further study in this area. It is intended for experts working in the field of qualitative analysis of differential and other types of equations.

The theory of two-person, zero-sum differential games started at the be ginning of the 1960s with the works of R. Isaacs in the United States and L.S. Pontryagin and his school in the former Soviet Union. Isaacs based his work on the Dynamic Programming method. He analyzed many special cases of the partial differential equation now called Hamilton Jacobi-Isaacs-briefiy HJI-trying to solve them explicitly and synthe sizing optimal feedbacks from the solution. He began a study of singular surfaces that was continued mainly by J. Breakwell and P. Bernhard and led to the explicit solution of some low-dimensional but highly nontriv ial games; a recent survey of this theory can be found in the book by J. Lewin entitled Differential Games (Springer, 1994). Since the early stages of the theory, several authors worked on making the notion of value of a differential game precise and providing a rigorous derivation of the HJI equation, which does not have a classical solution in most cases; we mention here the works of W. Fleming, A. Friedman (see his book, Differential Games, Wiley, 1971), P.P. Varaiya, E. Roxin, R.J. Elliott and N.J. Kalton, N.N. Krasovskii, and A.I. Subbotin (see their book Po sitional Differential Games, Nauka, 1974, and Springer, 1988), and L.D. Berkovitz. A major breakthrough was the introduction in the 1980s of two new notions of generalized solution for Hamilton-Jacobi equations, namely, viscosity solutions, by M.G. Crandall and P.-L.

Equilibrium Problems And Applications written by Gábor Kassay and has been published by Academic Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-10-09 with Business & Economics categories.
Equilibrium Problems and Applications develops a unified variational approach to deal with single-valued, set-valued and quasi-equilibrium problems. The authors promote original results in relationship with classical contributions to the field of equilibrium problems. The content evolved in the general setting of topological vector spaces and it lies at the interplay between pure and applied nonlinear analysis, mathematical economics, and mathematical physics. This abstract approach is based on tools from various fields, including set-valued analysis, variational and hemivariational inequalities, fixed point theory, and optimization. Applications include models from mathematical economics, Nash equilibrium of non-cooperative games, and Browder variational inclusions. The content is self-contained and the book is mainly addressed to researchers in mathematics, economics and mathematical physics as well as to graduate students in applied nonlinear analysis. - A rigorous mathematical analysis of Nash equilibrium type problems, which play a central role to describe network traffic models, competition games or problems arising in experimental economics - Develops generic models relevant to mathematical economics and quantitative modeling of game theory, aiding economists to understand vital material without having to wade through complex proofs - Reveals a number of surprising interactions among various equilibria topics, enabling readers to identify a common and unified approach to analysing problem sets - Illustrates the deep features shared by several types of nonlinear problems, encouraging readers to develop further this unifying approach from other viewpoints into economic models in turn

Set Valued Convex And Nonsmooth Analysis In Dynamics And Control written by Rafal K. Goebel and has been published by SIAM this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-26 with Mathematics categories.
Set-valued analysis, convex analysis, and nonsmooth analysis are relatively modern branches of mathematical analysis that have become increasingly relevant in current control theory and control engineering literature. This book serves as a broad introduction to analytical tools in these fields and to their applications in dynamical and control systems and is the first to cover these topics with this scope and at this level. Both continuous-time and discrete-time mutlivalued dynamics, modeled by differential and difference inclusions, are considered. Set-Valued, Convex, and Nonsmooth Analysis in Dynamics and Control: An Introduction is aimed at graduate students in control engineering and applied mathematics and researchers in control engineering who have no prior exposure to set-valued, convex, and nonsmooth analysis. The book will also be of interest to advanced undergraduate mathematics students and mathematicians with no prior exposure to the topic. The expected mathematical background is a course on nonlinear differential equations / dynamical systems and a course on real analysis. Knowledge of some control theory is helpful, but not essential.

Set Dynamic Equations On Time Scales A Brief Introduction With Applications written by Shihuang Hong and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-01-24 with Mathematics categories.
The process of authoring this book is inspired by the recent increased activity of research on dynamic equations on time scales and other closely related areas. This monograph is the first published book that attempts to provide a comprehensive view of the theory and applications of set dynamic equations on time scales. The main focus of the book is the qualitative theory of set dynamic equations and their applications to fuzzy dynamic equations. The key topics include the solvability of set dynamic equations, stability of set dynamic equations, and applications to certain types of fuzzy dynamic equations. There are five chapters in the book, through which the authors examine a wide scope of the concept of set dynamic equations and their applications. Each chapter focuses on theory and proofs to enrich the reader's understanding of the topic. This book will be particularly useful to those experts who work in applied analysis, in general. It will also be a good reference for computer scientists since it covers fuzzy dynamic equations. Researchers and graduate students at various levels interested in learning about set dynamic equations and related fields will find this text a valuable resource of both introductory and advanced material.

The series is devoted to the publication of high-level monographs which cover the whole spectrum of current nonlinear analysis and applications in various fields, such as optimization, control theory, systems theory, mechanics, engineering, and other sciences. One of its main objectives is to make available to the professional community expositions of results and foundations of methods that play an important role in both the theory and applications of nonlinear analysis. Contributions which are on the borderline of nonlinear analysis and related fields and which stimulate further research at the crossroads of these areas are particularly welcome.
