Qualitative Networks written by Elisa Bellotti and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-13 with Social Science categories.

How do we interact with people in our everyday life? Who are the people we are connected to? What are the consequences of overlapping social circles and how people deal with the potential emerging conflicts? What are the structural and cultural mechanisms that regulate social worlds? Network science is a scientific approach to the study of network dependencies and associations which tries to answer these and many other questions. This book explores the underlying mechanisms that regulate social life as they are produced, reproduced, modified, and abandoned in the spatial and temporal patterns of interactions. The mixed methods approach, that combines formal network analysis with qualitative materials and statistical tools, shows the importance of contextualising structural mechanisms in their social and cultural environment, and allows overcoming the traditional methodological boundaries that shape the field of social sciences.

Leadership Of Networks And Performance written by Susanne Ruckdäschel and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-27 with Business & Economics categories.

In contrast to hierarchical leadership within intra-organizational contexts, leaders of inter-organizational networks have to lead across organizational boundaries without hierarchical fiat or directive authority. The central research question of Susanne Ruckdäschel is how leadership behavior of network managers can influence network performance. Hereby, relational leadership in the form of empowering leadership is regarded as decisive criterion. Her study focuses on the interplay between network leaders and network companies. The perspectives of both the network managers and the network members are illuminated. Therefore, first, a mixed methods study is conducted from the perspective of the network managers and second, a quantitative analysis based on a structural equation model focuses on the perspective of the network members.

Mixed Methods Social Networks Research written by Silvia Domínguez and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-06-30 with Political Science categories.

This edited volume demonstrates the potential of mixed-methods designs for the research of social networks and the utilization of social networks for other research. Mixing methods applies to the combination and integration of qualitative and quantitative methods. In social network research, mixing methods also applies to the combination of structural and actor-oriented approaches. The volume provides readers with methodological concepts to guide mixed-method network studies with precise research designs and methods to investigate social networks of various sorts. Each chapter describes the research design used and discusses the strengths of the methods for that particular field and for specific outcomes.

Mixed Methods Social Network Analysis written by Dominik E. Froehlich and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-09 with Computers categories.

Mixed Methods Social Network Analysis brings together diverse perspectives from 42 international experts on how to design, implement, and evaluate mixed methods social network analysis (MMSNA). There is an increased recognition that social networks can be important catalysts for change and transformation. This edited book from leading experts in mixed methods and social network analysis describes how researchers can conceptualize, develop, mix, and intersect diverse approaches, concepts, and tools. In doing so, they can improve their understanding and insights into the complex change processes in social networks. Section 1 includes eight chapters that reflect on "Why should we do MMSNA?", providing a clear map of MMSNA research to date and why to consider MMSNA. In Section 2 the remaining 11 chapters are dedicated to the question "How do I do MMSNA?", illustrating how concentric circles, learning analytics, qualitative structured approaches, relational event modeling, and other approaches can empower researchers. This book shows that mixing qualitative and quantitative approaches to social network analysis can empower people to understand the complexities of change in networks and relations between people. It shows how mixed analysis can be applied to a wide range of data generated by diverse global communities: American school children, Belgian teachers, Dutch medical professionals, Finnish consultants, French school children, and Swedish right-wing social media users, amongst others. It will be of great interest to researchers and postgraduate students in education and social sciences and mixed methods scholars.

Neural Networks And Qualitative Physics written by Jean-Pierre Aubin and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-03-29 with Computers categories.

This book is devoted to some mathematical methods that arise in two domains of artificial intelligence: neural networks and qualitative physics. Professor Aubin makes use of control and viability theory in neural networks and cognitive systems, regarded as dynamical systems controlled by synaptic matrices, and set-valued analysis that plays a natural and crucial role in qualitative analysis and simulation. This allows many examples of neural networks to be presented in a unified way. In addition, several results on the control of linear and nonlinear systems are used to obtain a "learning algorithm" of pattern classification problems, such as the back-propagation formula, as well as learning algorithms of feedback regulation laws of solutions to control systems subject to state constraints.

Qualitative Analysis And Control Of Complex Neural Networks With Delays written by Zhanshan Wang and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-07-18 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book focuses on the stability of the dynamical neural system, synchronization of the coupling neural system and their applications in automation control and electrical engineering. The redefined concept of stability, synchronization and consensus are adopted to provide a better explanation of the complex neural network. Researchers in the fields of dynamical systems, computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics will benefit from the discussions on complex systems. The book will also help readers to better understand the theory behind the control technique and its design.

Based on narrative interviews with international students including egocentric network maps, this book explores international students’ role in the contexts they live in and how transnational spaces and internationality are (co-)created and defined in the students’ relationships. It offers insights into how students’ beings and belongings are intersected by connections to various places. These insights are an invitation to develop new strategies for internationalisation within higher education institutions by taking into consideration the students’ existing transnational networks.
