This book describes the outstanding recent progress in this important and challenging field and presents general background for the scientific context and specifics regarding key difficulties. Quantization is developed in the context of rigorous nonlinear quantum field theory in four dimensions and in connection with symplectic manifold theory and random Schrödinger operators. Nonlinear wave equations are exposed in relation to recent important progress in general relativity, in purely mathematical terms of microlocal analysis, and as represented by progress on the relativistic Boltzmann equation. Most of the developments in this volume appear in book form for the first time. The resulting work is a concise and informative way to explore the field and the spectrum of methods available for its investigation.

This book presents, for the first time, a systematic formulation of the geometric theory of noncommutative PDE's which is suitable enough to be used for a mathematical description of quantum dynamics and quantum field theory. A geometric theory of supersymmetric quantum PDE's is also considered, in order to describe quantum supergravity. Covariant and canonical quantizations of (super) PDE's are shown to be founded on the geometric theory of PDE's and to produce quantum (super) PDE's by means of functors from the category of commutative (super) PDE's to the category of quantum (super) PDE's. Global properties of solutions to (super) (commutative) PDE's are obtained by means of their integral bordism groups.

Conceptual progress in fundamental theoretical physics is linked with the search for the suitable mathematical structures that model the physical systems. Quantum field theory (QFT) has proven to be a rich source of ideas for mathematics for a long time. However, fundamental questions such as ``What is a QFT?'' did not have satisfactory mathematical answers, especially on spaces with arbitrary topology, fundamental for the formulation of perturbative string theory. This book contains a collection of papers highlighting the mathematical foundations of QFT and its relevance to perturbative string theory as well as the deep techniques that have been emerging in the last few years. The papers are organized under three main chapters: Foundations for Quantum Field Theory, Quantization of Field Theories, and Two-Dimensional Quantum Field Theories. An introduction, written by the editors, provides an overview of the main underlying themes that bind together the papers in the volume.

Representation Theory And Automorphic Forms written by T. N. Bailey and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Mathematics categories.

The lectures from a course in the representation theory of semi- simple groups, automorphic forms, and the relations between them. The purpose is to help analysts make systematic use of Lie groups in work on harmonic analysis, differential equations, and mathematical physics; and to provide number theorists with the representation-theoretic input to Wiles's proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. Begins with an introductory treatment of structure theory and ends with the current status of functionality. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR

The Legacy Of Norbert Wiener A Centennial Symposium written by Norbert Wiener and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Mathematics categories.

This book contains lectures presented at the MIT symposium on the 100th anniversary of Norbert Wiener's birth held in October 1994. The topics reflect Wiener's main interests while emphasizing current developments. In addition to lectures dealing directly with problems on which Wiener worked, such as potential theory, harmonic analysis, Wiener-Hopf theory, and Paley-Wiener theory, the book discusses the following topics: BLFourier integral operators with complex phase (a contemporary successor to the Paley-Wiener theory) BLstatistical aspects of quantum mechanics and of liquid crystals BLfinancial markets, including the new trading strategies for options based on Wiener processes BLstatistical methods of genetic research BLmodels of the nervous system, pattern recognition, and the nature of intelligence The volume includes reviews on Norbert Wiener's contributions from historical and current perspectives. This book gives mathematical researchers an overview of new mathematical problems presented by other areas and gives researchers in other fields a broad overview of the ways in which advanced mathematics might be useful to them.

Geometric And Algebraic Topological Methods In Quantum Mechanics written by G. Giachetta and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Science categories.

In the last decade, the development of new ideas in quantum theory, including geometric and deformation quantization, the non-Abelian Berry''s geometric factor, super- and BRST symmetries, non-commutativity, has called into play the geometric techniques based on the deep interplay between algebra, differential geometry and topology. The book aims at being a guide to advanced differential geometric and topological methods in quantum mechanics. Their main peculiarity lies in the fact that geometry in quantum theory speaks mainly the algebraic language of rings, modules, sheaves and categories. Geometry is by no means the primary scope of the book, but it underlies many ideas in modern quantum physics and provides the most advanced schemes of quantization.
