Deep learning has achieved impressive results in image classification, computer vision, and natural language processing. To achieve better performance, deeper and wider networks have been designed, which increase the demand for computational resources. The number of floatingpoint operations (FLOPs) has increased dramatically with larger networks, and this has become an obstacle for convolutional neural networks (CNNs) being developed for mobile and embedded devices. In this context, Binary Neural Networks: Algorithms, Architectures, and Applications will focus on CNN compression and acceleration, which are important for the research community. We will describe numerous methods, including parameter quantization, network pruning, low-rank decomposition, and knowledge distillation. More recently, to reduce the burden of handcrafted architecture design, neural architecture search (NAS) has been used to automatically build neural networks by searching over a vast architecture space. Our book will also introduce NAS and binary NAS and its superiority and state-of-the-art performance in various applications, such as image classification and object detection. We also describe extensive applications of compressed deep models on image classification, speech recognition, object detection, and tracking. These topics can help researchers better understand the usefulness and the potential of network compression on practical applications. Moreover, interested readers should have basic knowledge of machine learning and deep learning to better understand the methods described in this book. Key Features Reviews recent advances in CNN compression and acceleration Elaborates recent advances on binary neural network (BNN) technologies Introduces applications of BNN in image classification, speech recognition, object detection, and more

Study On Signal Detection And Recovery Methods With Joint Sparsity written by Xueqian Wang and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-30 with Technology & Engineering categories.
The task of signal detection is deciding whether signals of interest exist by using their observed data. Furthermore, signals are reconstructed or their key parameters are estimated from the observations in the task of signal recovery. Sparsity is a natural characteristic of most of signals in practice. The fact that multiple sparse signals share the common locations of dominant coefficients is called by joint sparsity. In the context of signal processing, joint sparsity model results in higher performance of signal detection and recovery. This book focuses on the task of detecting and reconstructing signals with joint sparsity. The main contents include key methods for detection of joint sparse signals and their corresponding theoretical performance analysis, and methods for joint sparse signal recovery and their application in the context of radar imaging.

In the context of systems and control, incomplete information refers to a dynamical system in which knowledge about the system states is limited due to the difficulties in modelling complexity in a quantitative way. The well-known types of incomplete information include parameter uncertainties and norm-bounded nonlinearities. Recently, in response to the development of network technologies, the phenomenon of randomly occurring incomplete information has become more and more prevalent. Filtering, Control and Fault Detection with Randomly Occurring Incomplete Information reflects the state-of-the-art of the research area for handling randomly occurring incomplete information from three interrelated aspects of control, filtering and fault detection. Recent advances in networked control systems and distributed filtering over sensor networks are covered, and application potential in mobile robotics is also considered. The reader will benefit from the introduction of new concepts, new models and new methodologies with practical significance in control engineering and signal processing. Key Features: Establishes a unified framework for filtering, control and fault detection problem for various discrete-time nonlinear stochastic systems with randomly occurring incomplete information Investigates several new concepts for randomly occurring phenomena and proposes a new system model to better describe network-induced problems Demonstrates how newly developed techniques can handle emerging mathematical and computational challenges Contains the latest research results Filtering, Control and Fault Detection with Randomly Occurring Incomplete Information provides a unified yet neat framework for control/filtering/fault-detection with randomly occurring incomplete information. It is a comprehensive textbook for graduate students and is also a useful practical research reference for engineers dealing with control, filtering and fault detection problems for networked systems.

Deep Learning For Crack Like Object Detection written by Kaige Zhang and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-03-20 with Computers categories.
Computer vision-based crack-like object detection has many useful applications, such as inspecting/monitoring pavement surface, underground pipeline, bridge cracks, railway tracks etc. However, in most contexts, cracks appear as thin, irregular long-narrow objects, and often are buried in complex, textured background with high diversity which make the crack detection very challenging. During the past a few years, deep learning technique has achieved great success and has been utilized for solving a variety of object detection problems. This book discusses crack-like object detection problem comprehensively. It starts by discussing traditional image processing approaches for solving this problem, and then introduces deep learning-based methods. It provides a detailed review of object detection problems and focuses on the most challenging problem, crack-like object detection, to dig deep into the deep learning method. It includes examples of real-world problems, which are easy to understand and could be a good tutorial for introducing computer vision and machine learning.
