Mother Nature is the big new popular science book for the end of the millennium. It starts from the standpoint of Darwinist evolutionary theory, but turns it on its head. It is the first such major book by a women, qho ia professor of SocioBiology at the University of California, trained in Anthropology and an expert on Primates in particular. She's also one of the few women members fo the US Academy of Sciences. It's not for nothing that Nature is known as Mother Nature. Evolution is controlled, Hrdy demonstrates, not by the male of species, but by the female who is more diverse, deadlier and more adaptable for her own and for evolutionary purposes (which are one and the same thing) than the male. It is thus the female who ultimately controls the perpetuation and evolution of her family/tribe/race/species right through nature. The notion of 'maternal instinct', with it baggage of self-sacrifice, gentleness and devotion, is not just a myth but a misapprehension. In fact, strong, aggressive 'maternal' behaviour is the ultimate manifestation of the 'selfish' gene.

"My name is Mona Tempus. People of your world know me as Mother Nature." So begins the funny, fanciful, and often times frightening dialogue between a strange, beautiful woman and a skeptical, bewildered man. What evolves is a chronicle of the environmental devastation that has befallen our planet. Mother Nature (Mona), with help from her crew-an unforgettable cast of characters-relates her insights into the dangers we face in the forms of rainforest destruction, air and water pollution, land degradation, global warming, species extinction, and over-population. Blending the latest scientific findings with a history of the Earth's evolution from the Big Bang to the present day, and drawing on such other disciplines as sociology, anthropology, and religion, Mona offers her unique perspective on how we landed in this predicament. Reminding us that we can't rely on Governments or Big Business to save us, she issues a call to action for the peoples of Earth to rescue their planet...and gives us a ray of hope in the myriad of solutions she proposes. This original, compelling book is a must-read for anyone who cares about preserving Mother Earth both for their own and for future generations.

Mother Nature has issued human beings various warnings over the years, some subtle, some not so subtle; messages she intended to wake us up with, ones that would stop us from directing the planet onto a path that, some say, might already be irreversible. Unfortunately, these messages have largely gone unheeded up until now, which is why Mother Nature has decided to create something new: an Agent that is absolutely unpredictable. Her hope is that humanity will finally wake up and not only begin to preserve the planet, thus saving it from death and destruction, but bringing us humans back to the knowledge that we are one regardless of race, class or colour, and that by working together we can finally attain our freedom. Mother Nature and the Agent is about paying close attention to the greatest signs she has ever given us, so we can ultimately bring about change and welcome in a new era.

Annelise loved the outdoors, animals, and art. As a teenager, her days were spent lying in the grass drawing her cat, or up in the trees studying the bugs that made their home in the leaves. She wanted to do them justice in her artwork. The young artist also loved to paint the flowers in the garden. Annelise captured everything in her sketch book except the horses in her life. As far as her equine friends were concerned, there was no time to sit and draw; time with them was far too precious to waste. Her day at the barn flew by, brushing, feeding, bathing, and most important, riding. Now, years later, it saddened Annelise not to have a sketch some of her equine companions. Horses, like most other animals, rapidly disappeared during the early part of the twenty-first century, long ago cast out as an expensive nuisance and as a danger to the survival of humanity. Horses, no longer viewed as the sport of kings and a helper to man, were in danger of becoming a food source. Those seeking the perfect planet had eradicated the wondrous creatures that once lived freely and had such a symbiotic relationship of service with humanity. One law after another was enacted. First no animals within city limits, and then no animals within three hundred miles of any population center. Zoos were outlawed because they created too much pollution and used too much water. The only way to see a real animal, exotic or domesticated, was to drive to four central locations, mostly in the plains of the Midwest and the deserts of the far West. Animals were now kept in a handful of sanctuaries. Where had all of these crazy laws come from?

The Spirit of the Earth A creative journey into the soul of mother nature. Humanity is ‘part-of’ and not ‘apart from’ Nature and the Earth. We rely on her for everything that we stand for, which is why it’s so important to look after her. This book is a restorative journey, expressed in photographs and creative words. It conveys the process of regaining our true nature by reconnecting with Mother Nature. There are four processes, in which I have travelled the journey from the beginning, and which can be a guide for others to emulate... Reflection, Reconnection, Strength and Growth, and, finally, Change and Transition. The Creative Spirit is the bridge to becoming connected to the Spirit of the Earth once more. And when we have reconnected to Mother Nature, then we are able to heal our inner nature and fulfil our true purpose.

The pandemic didn't start with Samantha, but reluctantly she was the first to go public. World-wide, the people were starving and suffering tremendous pain whenever they ate, but little was being done by the professionals. Misdiagnoses' were running rampant and eventually everyone was forced to suffer in silence, or undergo the unwanted consequences. Grudgingly, Samantha spoke to individuals that also needed help and this started her personal domino effect, which led to a friend having meetings; an eavesdropping customer reaching out to insane asylums and prisons; and eventually an extremely embarrassing situation that lead to a radio station willing to listen. A Word from the Author: For century's Mother Nature has tolerated the human race. Since the day we evolved into human form, we have tried to change the earth to suit us. She expanded our brains in the hope we would learn to live with all she has supplied for us. But we only destroy parts of her in our attempt to understand. All other animals work with Mother Nature, but humans are never satisfied. During a storm, animals will huddle under bushes, inside caves or stand on the lee side as they huddle close to an obstacle to block the winds, and wait patiently for the worse to pass. Humans will cut down trees to build a shelter, destroying a little piece of 'Mother'. In times of threat and danger, animals will run, tuck, fight, hide or burrow, until it is once again safe to continue on their peaceful way. Humans will cut branches for arrows and spears, dig up metals to make swords and guns and eventually invent bombs to prevent backing down from their enemies; this continues to destroy pieces of 'Mother'. Animals go to the river to drink and the forest for protection and food. Humans reroute the rivers to come to them and move the forest closer or farther for their convenience. 'Mother' could adjust to this if only there weren't so many of us, everywhere, doing it every time, as we continue destroying and hurting parts of 'Mother.' Animals will have large litters of young, several times a year and still stay within their allowed population while Mother Nature limits humans up to (on average) one child a year and still we managed to overpopulate the planet. Again damaging 'Mother'. 'Mother' has sent us plagues, famine, killer weather, volcanoes, and earthquakes to try getting us under control. We have always won the battle by destroying her a little further in our attempts to survive. It's only a matter of time before Mother Nature is gone and we all point our greedy little fingers at everyone and everything ELSE as we look for blame. 'Mother' is now slapping us with global warming and what are we doing about it? Everything and nothing as only humans do best. No matter what we accomplish, 'Mother' will suffer the outcome. 'Mother' is tired. If she can't get the human race to obey her rules, she will have to try a new strategy. She will give us more power than ever before. She is finally able to see that power is the most important thing to humans. If she could get each individual to specialize on one precise task, then she won't have to listen to thousands yelling in different directions on how to save Mother Nature while they go on destroying her in so many different ways. Go after and control the strongest creatures on the planet and you have your dominance. 'Mother' must go after us before it's too lat
