Three recent B physics results at CDF are presented. The first analysis measures the production polarization of the [psi](2S) from its decay into [mu]+[mu]-. The second one determines the [chi]b contribution to the [Upsilon](1S) production. Both analyses are important tests of the Color Octet Model. The third analysis related here is a measurement of the full decay amplitudes of B0 → J/[psi]K*0 and B0s → J/[psi][phi]. This provides both a test of the factorization model and information relevant to CP violation studies in the B sector. All of the results are to be considered preliminary.

Current CDF b-physics results are presented. The analysis is based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.4 pb−1 recorded with the CDF detector in 88--89 at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} collider (√{bar s} = 1.8 TeV). Preliminary results include the differential cross section {sub dPt}/{sup d{sigma}(b)}, some reconstructed exclusive B-decays, a limit for the rare decay B° →??− and a measurement of B{bar B}-mixing parameters. Finally we will discuss the prospects concerning b-physics for the next data run which will start in February 1992. 12 refs., 8 figs.

The CDF Run I B physics program has been very successful, making numerous measurements over a wide variety of B physics topics. While the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) is starting a new data run, it is also finishing analyses based on the 100 pb−1 ''Run 1'' data sample collected between 1992 and 1996. In particular, the [Lambda]{sub b} lifetime has been measured using the exclusive decay channel [Lambda]{sub b} → J/[psi][Lambda]°. The B+ cross section, based upon the decay B+ → J/[psi]K+, has been finalized, as well as the ratio of inclusive b quark cross sections at √s = 630 GeV and 1800 GeV. Early results from the new data run with the displaced-track trigger, which shows great promise for b physics at CDF, are presented.

B physics is at the core of the CDF agenda for Run II. With the Tevatron performance gradually improving, samples of data corresponding to about 70 pb−1 are now available. Due to improved detector capabilities these data already allow one to improve a number of Run I results, as well as perform a series of new measurements. We present an overview of the current state of B physics at CDF.
