This research applies a numerical study of topology optimization of laminate composite structures by using a Finite Element Method. In this methodology, the plies orientation is excluded from the optimization. The geometry-based optimization from frames of a MALE UAV fuselage structure is presented. The minimum strain energy with an optimization constraint of 20 percent of weight reduction is used in the objective function. Before the primary analysis, benchmark studies of topology optimization without considering orientations from previously published literature are performed. The convergence studies were taken to acquire the appropriate mesh size in the FEM technique, which utilized a four-noded shell element. The FE analysis and optimization results showed that the structural design of the newly frame composite fuselage MALE UAV meets the structural strength requirements specified in the airworthiness standard STANAG 4671.

Flexible and wearable technologies are gaining wide attention with their promise of applications in sensing, electronics, and energy. The materials involved should be flexible, lightweight, robust, and non-toxic. Natural biopolymers such as silk, chitin, collagen, cellulose, and gelatine have these properties, with the additional benefits of low cost, renewability, and biocompatibility. Taking a closer look at these soft materials and their forms reveals novel multifunctional abilities, paving the way for new devices. Introducing the recent development of multifunctional natural polymers, this book serves as a reference for researchers, detailing the novel properties and behaviour of natural biopolymers, and their synthetic strategies. Students will find this a useful introduction to multifunctional soft matter and polymer physics. Throughout the book an understanding of the principles of flexible and wearable device design will allow readers to connect materials to applications in wearable electronics, such as flexible sensors, soft robots, solar cells and energy storage devices.

The Clean Hydrogen Economy And Saudi Arabia written by Rami Shabaneh and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-04-18 with Business & Economics categories.

This book provides a first-of-its-kind analysis of the emerging global hydrogen economy from the vantage point of one of the world’s biggest energy providers: Saudi Arabia. In 2021, and within the context of the Circular Carbon Economy framework, Saudi Arabia announced its goal to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2060 and produce a substantial amount of clean hydrogen annually by 2030. The Kingdom is optimally situated geographically between the major demand markets in Europe and North Asia, from where it can leverage clean hydrogen exports as a potential tool to become a player of strategic importance and successfully diversify its economy under its Vision 2030 program. More broadly, the book charts a course for fossil fuel-exporting countries such as Saudi Arabia to carve a competitive position for themselves over the forthcoming decades using clean hydrogen as a catalyst for the energy transition. With contributions from global energy experts, the chapters in this book provide a multifaceted analysis of the "who," "what," "where," and "why" related to clean hydrogen development within and beyond Saudi Arabia. Collectively, the contributions analyze the countries and regions relevant to Saudi Arabia in terms of dedicated hydrogen policies, projects, and approaches that aim to incentivize production and demand in an increasingly carbon-constrained world. The book is a timely, unique and an indispensable resource for practitioners and students of energy, geopolitics, and climate policy working on hydrogen in academia, applied research, national government bodies, and international organizations.
