NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A guide to managing inflammation and pain with 125+ recipes proving that you don’t need to sacrifice delicious food to eat healthfully and be pain free, from celebrity chef and The Chew co-host Michael Symon IACP AWARD FINALIST • “Michael fixed himself with irresistible recipes that just happened to be healthy. Now you can enjoy healing yourself as well.”—Mehmet Oz, MD, attending surgeon, New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University When Michael Symon found out he had rheumatoid arthritis and external lupus, he suspected that what he ate—or didn’t eat—could make a profound difference in his levels of inflammation and how he felt. So he committed to a food “reset” on The Chew—no red meat, white flour, sugar, dairy, or alcohol. Michael used social media to share his experiment with his fans, and was shocked by the outcome: after completing the reset, he felt amazing. He discovered that dairy, sugar, and processed flours are his food triggers, and that by avoiding them, his inflammation essentially vanished. Michael came up with more than 125 recipes to satisfy his cravings without aggravating his body, including Ginger and Chile-Roast Chicken, dairy-free Mac and Cheese, Spaghetti Squash with Arugula Pesto, and Apple and Cherry Oat Crisp, among many others. Now, for the first time, he is sharing these recipes, as well as a guide on how to identify your food triggers and create a meal plan that works around whatever ingredient causes your discomfort so that you too can enjoy incredible food without sacrificing your health.

Recipes For Disease is an on-going series of books containing information on on-going research into the correlations between diet, disease and blood-type. The blueprint for this research is the book Eat Right For Your Type by Dr. Peter J. DAdamo. It is his research and his fathers discovery of the connection between antigens and lectins that made this newest facet of medicine possible. Recipes For Disease came about as a result of over twenty-five years of observations in dealing with the aged, diseased and training people in gyms. I had always noticed right from the beginning that two people would have the same diet and exercise routine and yet come out with completely different results. I noticed right off that these people had different blood-types and I felt absolutely sure that was the answer. That was 1978. Jump to 2005 when I discovered Dr. DAdamos book. With all the training information and health information I had gathered over the previous quarter-century, this book made everything fall into place. Combined with my experience over the years, I had quite the jump on the research to start with; I knew just about where to begin. So, I did. The statistical trends I started to see were astounding. Now its 2008; three years later. I now have enough information to publish my initial findings and to show where this research is going. This is not about what you should do; instead, Recipes For Disease talks about what you should not do to achieve results to a healthier body. Succeeding books will have more information and new areas of research that are currently being investigated plus many we havent even begun to consider. Enjoy! JP

• National Bestseller • You can live a full, happy, and healthy life without ever feeling excluded or deprived. When doctors told Danielle Walker that food didn’t cause her autoimmune disease and couldn’t help control it, she set out to prove them wrong. Diagnosed with an extreme form of ulcerative colitis at 22, Danielle was terrified she’d never be able to eat all the wonderful, great-tasting foods she loved growing up or host warm, welcoming gatherings with family and friends. So when the medicine she was prescribed became almost as debilitating as the disease itself, Danielle took matters into her own hands, turned her kitchen into a laboratory, and set to work creating gut-healthy versions of the foods she thought she’d never be able to enjoy again. Three New York Times bestselling cookbooks later, Danielle has become a beacon of hope for millions around the world suffering from autoimmune diseases, food allergies, and chronic ailments. Now for the first time, with stunning transparency about the personal toll her illness took on her physically, emotionally, and spiritually, Danielle reflects on everything she’s learned during her decade-long journey toward healing—including the connection between gut health and overall well-being, the development of her favorite recipes, and the keys for not simply surviving her autoimmune disease but thriving despite it. Through her resilience, Danielle tells a story that provides hope—hope that despite your ailments or hardships, you can live a full, happy, and healthy life without ever feeling excluded or deprived. Food saved Danielle Walker. And it can save you, too. Includes six fan-favorite recipes and the stories behind them!
