Islamic Geometric Patterns written by Jay Bonner and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-17 with Mathematics categories.

The main focus of this unique book is an in-depth examination of the polygonal technique; the primary method used by master artists of the past in creating Islamic geometric patterns. The author details the design methodology responsible for this all-but-lost art form and presents evidence for its use from the historical record, both of which are vital contributions to the understanding of this ornamental tradition. Additionally, the author examines the historical development of Islamic geometric patterns, the significance of geometric design within the broader context of Islamic ornament as a whole, the formative role that geometry plays throughout the Islamic ornamental arts (including calligraphy, the floral idiom, dome decoration, geometric patterns, and more), and the underexamined question of pattern classification. Featuring over 600 beautiful color images, Islamic Geometric Patterns: Their Historical Development and Traditional Methods of Con struction is a valuable addition to the literature of Islamic art, architecture and geometric patterns. This book is ideal for students and scholars of geometry, the history of mathematics, and the history of Islamic art, architecture, and culture. In addition, artists, designers, craftspeople, and architects will all find this book an exceptionally informative and useful asset in their fields. Jay Bonner is an architectural ornamentalist and unaffiliated scholar of Islamic geometric design. He received his MDes from the Royal College of Art in London (1983). He has contributed ornamental designs for many international architectural projects, including the expansion of both the al-Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque) in Mecca, and the al-Masjid an Nawabi (Prophet’s Mosque) in Medina, as well the Tomb of Sheikh Hujwiri in Lahore, and the Ismaili Centre in London – to name but a few. He is committed to the revitalization of Islamic geometric design through the teaching of traditional methodological practices. To this end, in addition to publishing, Jay Bonner has lectured and taught design seminars at many universities and conferences in North America, Europe, North Africa and Asia.

We would like to bid you welcome to the Tver region! Tver is known as the "Soul of Russia”. This is not just a beautiful metaphor. Our ancient and beautiful land rightfully occupies a special place in the history, culture and formation of spiritual values of the entire Russian nation. It is only in the Tver region where three great rivers: the Volga, the Western Dvina and the Dnieper originate. Here you can stand on both banks of the rivers, which eventually flow into three different seas. The main Russian river, the Volga, is born here from the drops of an underground spring that gains strength as it grows, and becomes a symbol of our country, its statehood and spiritual power. The Tver region welcomes visitors by offering unique opportunities for recreation, travel and daily activities. When you explore our region you will see with your own eyes the rich and fascinating heritage of the Tver land. The wonders of Russia include the ancient citadel of Orthodoxy which is the Boris and Gleb monastery in Torzhok, the «rising-from-the water» bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Kalyazin, and the Church of the White Trinity in Tver. The unique architectural ensemble of downtown Tver is often referred to as the «tri-axial structure» or «classic trident».Our region is within easy reach for travelers. It is located close to the Sheremetyevo International Airport and connected with the nearby provinces through a network of modern highways as well as high-speed rail and water routes. Feel free to choose the route your prefer and embark on an exciting journey!!! We are looking forward to seeing you soon.Designated Tourist Routes in the Tver RegionRoute No 1. Inthispreface, wegive the reader an overview of what took place at the workshop and introduce the contributions in this Lecture Notes in Computer Science volume. A complete introduction to the theme of the workshop, as well as to the history of the Monterey Workshop series, can be found in Luqi and Kordon’s “Advances in Requirements Engineering: Bridging the Gap between Stakeholders’ Needs and Formal Designs” in this volume. This paper also contains the case study that many participants used as a problem to frame their analyses, and a summary of the workshop’s results. The workshop consisted of three keynote talks, three panels, presentations of peer-reviewed papers, as well as presentations of various position papers by the participants. The keynote speakers at this year’s workshop were Daniel Berry, Aravind Joshi, and Lori Clarke. Each of their talks was used to set the tone for the p- sentations and discussions for that particular day. Daniel Berry presented an overview of the needs and challenges of natural language processing in requi- ments engineering, with a special focus on ambiguity in his talk “Ambiguity in Natural Language Requirements. ” Aravind Joshi provided an overview of current natural language processing research in discourse analysis in the talk “Some Recent Developments in Natural Language Processing. ” Finally, Lori Clarke showed how to combine formal requirements speci?cation with natural language processing to cope with the complex domain of medical information processes in “Getting the Details Right.

Design For Embedded Image Processing On Fpgas written by Donald G. Bailey and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-08-14 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Design for Embedded Image Processing on FPGAs Bridge the gap between software and hardware with this foundational design reference Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are integrated circuits designed so that configuration can take place. Circuits of this kind play an integral role in processing images, with FPGAs increasingly embedded in digital cameras and other devices that produce visual data outputs for subsequent realization and compression. These uses of FPGAs require specific design processes designed to mediate smoothly between hardware and processing algorithm. Design for Embedded Image Processing on FPGAs provides a comprehensive overview of these processes and their applications in embedded image processing. Beginning with an overview of image processing and its core principles, this book discusses specific design and computation techniques, with a smooth progression from the foundations of the field to its advanced principles. Readers of the second edition of Design for Embedded Image Processing on FPGAs will also find: Detailed discussion of image processing techniques including point operations, histogram operations, linear transformations, and more New chapters covering Deep Learning algorithms and Image and Video Coding Example applications throughout to ground principles and demonstrate techniques Design for Embedded Image Processing on FPGAs is ideal for engineers and academics working in the field of Image Processing, as well as graduate students studying Embedded Systems Engineering, Image Processing, Digital Design, and related fields.
