In 2008, writing became a passion for Kendra Ervin. She did not realize it to be a gift until she wrote her first two poems. Not seeing writing as a hobby, she saw it more as a way to express her thoughts, feelings and emotions, as well as those of others, who would frequently share their testimonies with her. With their encouragement and support of others around her, Kendra Ervin now has the courage to offer her writings in this book. Her book, Reflection Of The Past - Recognize and Release, is a collection of her poetry coming directly from her soul. The purpose of the book is to provide encouragement to others and allow them to see that they are never alone in their struggles and battles that they face now or have previously endured. As you read the poems, you can see a progression of going from hurting to healing and overcoming. Her prayer is that you that you will see that healing is possible, be encouraged to move forward and be inspired to live the best life possible.

Critical Reflection Spirituality And Professional Practice written by Cheryl Hunt and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-06-24 with Education categories.

This book explores the concept and facilitation of critical reflection and its implications for professional practice. It draws on the author’s own extensive experience to demonstrate how reflective processes involving metaphor and imagery, as well as critique, can be used not only to understand and articulate key values underpinning professional practice and to generate new theoretical models, but to explore one's own worldview, including the ultimate question: 'Who am I?’. The author incorporates practical examples of reflection-through-writing and other reflective techniques which illustrate how ideas about critical reflection, transformative learning, authenticity and spirituality are intricately entwined within theories and practices of adult learning and professional development. The book highlights the importance of understanding the relationship between personal worldviews, values and professional practice. It draws on the concepts of vocation and professional psychological wellbeing to consider what it means to act authentically as a professional within an audit culture. The book will be invaluable for practitioners, academics and students interested in critical reflection, educational inquiry, autoethnography and the use of the self in and as research, the nature and use of metaphor, and the development of worldviews.

Sartre And Psychoanalysis written by Betty Cannon and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1991 with Literary Criticism categories.

Betty Cannon is the first to explore the implications of Sartrean philosophy for the Freudian psychoanalytic tradition. Drawing upon Sartre's work as well as her own experiences as a practicing therapist, she shows that Sartre was a "fellow traveler" who appreciated Freud's psychoanalytic achievements but rebelled against the determinism of his metatheory. The mind, Sartre argued, cannot be reduced to a collection of drives and structures, nor is it enslaved to its past as Freud's work suggested. Sartre advocated an existentialist psychoanalysis based on human freedom and the self's ability to reshape its own meaning and value. Through the Sartrean approach Cannon offers a resolution to the crisis in psychoanalytic metatheory created by the current emphasis on relational needs. By comparing Sartre with Freud and influential post-Freudians like Melanie Klein, Otto Kernber, Margaret Mahler, D.W. Winnicott, Heinz Kohut, Harry Stack Sullivan, and Jacques Lacan, she demonstrates why the Sartrean model transcends the limitations of traditional Freudian metatheory. In the process, she adds a new dimension to our understanding of Sartre and his place in twentieth-century philosophy.

Gadamer On Tradition Historical Context And The Limits Of Reflection written by Anders Odenstedt and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-07 with Philosophy categories.

This book discusses Gadamer's theory of context-dependence. Analytical and partly critical, the book also shows exegetical accuracy in the rendering of Gadamer's position. It explores the following questions that Gadamer's theory of context-dependence tries to answer: in what way is thought influenced by and thus dependent on its historical context? To what extent and in what way is the individual able to become reflectively aware of and emancipate himself from this dependence? The book takes Gadamer's wide interests into account, e.g. issues relating to the history of historiography and the nature of art and aesthetic experience. The problem of the context-dependence of thought is prominent in contemporary philosophy, including the fields of structuralism, post structuralism, deconstruction, certain forms of feminist philosophy and the philosophy of science. In this sense, the book discusses an issue with wide repercussions.
