C'est ainsi que Mohamed V prend la défense des Juifs contre le régime de Vichy cependant que Hassan II consacre toute son énergie à la réconciliation des enfants d'Abraham et à la conclusion d'une paix juste et durable au Moyen Orient, autant de faits qui inspirent l'action de l'actuel souverain, Mohamed VI. Elaborée pendant vingt-cinq ans, cette somme a bénéficié de la précieuse contribution des spécialistes marocains, juifs et arabes, et de celle de bibliothèques du monde entier.
