There are a lot of excellent textbooks on the design of reinforced concrete structures. However, based on professional experience of more than thirty years, the author feels that a separate book dedicated only to discuss the properties, behavior and use of reinforcement in concrete construction is highly justified. Conventional textbooks on concrete structures focus primarily on the mechanics of reinforced concrete design. Properties of reinforcement are discussed in a limited manner – only those which are deemed just adequate for discussing the theory of concrete mechanics. Typically, such books contain little or no background information or explanation as to why the various code provisions or rules regarding the reinforcement are imposed or formulated. It is observed that the application of modern materials and technologies in reinforcement manufacturing does not get proper attention or consideration in the engineering practices of many professionals. Based on the interaction with many engineers engaged in the design and construction of concrete structures, the author feels that there is a lack of the essential background knowledge of the engineering properties and behavior of concrete reinforcement among many of them. And such a lack of knowledge often leads to improper implementation of the code design provisions. Limited scope of our existing engineering curricula is primarily responsible for this. This book has been written with an aim to fill this gap and to make engineering students and practicing engineers more up-to-date.

Design Of Modern Highrise Reinforced Concrete Structures written by Hiroyuki Aoyama and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001-12-28 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book presents the results of a Japanese national research project carried out in 1988-1993, usually referred to as the New RC Project. Developing advanced reinforced concrete building structures with high strength and high quality materials under its auspices, the project aimed at promoting construction of highrise reinforced concrete buildings in highly seismic areas such as Japan. The project covered all the aspects of reinforced concrete structures, namely materials, structural elements, structural design, construction, and feasibility studies. In addition to presenting these results, the book includes two chapters giving an elementary explanation of modern analytical techniques, i.e. finite element analysis and earthquake response analysis.

Durability failures in reinforced concrete structures are wasteful of resources and energy. The introduction to practice of European Standard EN 206-1 represents a significant shift in emphasis on the need to explicitly consider each potential durability threat when specifying and producing concrete. Durability Of Reinforced Concrete Structures written by Paul Chess and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-23 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Reinforced concrete structures corrode as they age, with significant financial implications, but it is not immediately clear why some are more durable than others. This book looks at the mechanisms for corrosion and how corrosion engineering can be used for these problems to be minimized in future projects. Several different examples of reinforced concrete structures with corrosion problems are described and the various life enhancement solutions considered and applied are discussed. The book includes a chapter on the effectiveness of corrosion monitoring techniques and questions why the reality is at odds with current theory and standards. Specialist contractors, consultants and owners of corrosion damaged structures will find this an extremely useful resource. It will also be a valuable reference for students at postgraduate level.

Modelling And Analysis Of Reinforced Concrete Structures For Dynamic Loading written by Christian Meyer and has been published by CISM International Centre for Mechanical Sciences this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998-07-09 with Computers categories.
A comprehensive review of the material behavior of concrete under dynamic loads, especially impact and impuls, opens the volume. It is followed by a summary of the various analytical tools available to engineers interested in analyzing the nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete members for dynamic load. These range from relatively simple and practice-oriented push-over analysis to sophisticated layered finite element models. Important design-related topics are discussed, with special emphasis on performance of concrete frames subjected to seismic loads. The significance of modern software systems is recognized by including extensive examples. For readers not current in dynamic analysis methods, an appendix contains a review of the mathematical methods most commonly used for such analysis.
