Relevant Characteristics of Power Lines Passing through Urban Areas covers a variety of problems in electric-power delivery that were considered for a long time in professional and scientific circles unsolvable. Taking into account the influence of all surrounding metal installations on the relevant characteristics of HV and EHV lines passing through urban and/or suburban areas, this reference provides safe and economical solutions on how to check and achieve prescribed safety conditions, determine the dangerous and harmful inductive influence of HV and EHV lines, enable compensation of deficiency for all unknowns, understand relevant data concerning surrounding metal installations, and more. This book is necessary for properly dimensioning cable systems, considering the existing underground structures near substations and providing engineers with the necessary information they need to design normal operations and determine fault events. - Includes methodologies that enable solutions for several types of problems in electric-power delivery that were previously unsolvable - Defines specific field measurements by guiding the development of corresponding analytical procedures - Showcases a clear scope for the application for HV and EHV distribution networks

Practical Methods for Analysis and Design of HV Installation Grounding Systems gives readers a basic understanding of the modeling characteristics of the major components of a complex grounding system. One by one, the author develops and analyzes each component as a standalone element, but then puts them together, considering their mutual disposition, or so-called proximity effect. This is the first book to enable the making and analysis of the most complex grounding systems that are typical for HV substations located in urban areas that uses relatively simple mathematical operations instead of modern computers. Since the presented methods enable problem-solving for more complex issues than the ones solved using National, IEC and/or IEEE standards, this book can be considered as an appendix to these standards. - Develops general equations of lumped parameter ladder circuits - Includes the analytical expression for determination of ground fault current distribution for a fault anywhere along a cable line - Presents measurement and analytical methods for the determination of actual ground fault current distribution for high-voltage substations located in urban areas - Provides the analytical procedure for the determination of the critical ground fault position for faults appearing in outgoing transmission lines - Defines testing procedure for the correct evaluation of grounding systems of substations located in urban areas

It used to serve the listener as a bradshaw of broadcasting ,and give listener the useful information in an interesting manner about programmes, who writes them, take part in them and produce them along with photographs of performing artists. It also contains the information of major changes in the policy and service of the organisation. The Indian Listener (fortnightly programme journal of AIR in English) published by The Indian State Broadcasting Service, Bombay, started on 22 December, 1935 and was the successor to the Indian Radio Times in English, which was published beginning in July 16 of 1927. Transport Systems written by Milan Janic and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-27 with Education categories.
The transport sector consists of different modes of transport, each serving a growing demand for transporting people and goods. This (growing) demand on the one hand, needs expanding the systems’ capacity, and on the other hand, increasing the corresponding economic efficiency, effectiveness, and environmental and social friendliness. This implies development of a ‘greener’, i.e. a more sustainable transport sector. The book describes the current and prospective state of the art analytical modelling, conceptual planning, and multi-criteria evaluation of the selected cases of transport systems operated by different transport modes such as road, rail, sea, air, and intermodal. As such, the book is unique in addressing these three important aspects of dealing with transport systems before implementation of their particular components means by the selected cases. It will be particularly useful for readers from the academia and the professionals from the transport sector.

This book analyzes the experiences of energy, sustainability and resilience issues from different Asian countries and puts forward a futuristic vision of an energy sector for sustained development. Energy is at the core of development, but in energy generation, there are severe environmental implications in many cases. This clearly affects development and causes significant challenges to sustainability. Climate change and disasters have an effect on energy infrastructures and also make significant impacts on humans in terms of both shocks and stresses. Therefore, it is extremely important to understand the linkage of energy, sustainability and resilience. Asia is a hotspot of climate change and disasters, suffering from severe damages to the energy infrastructure of the countries there. At the same time, being a core of world development trajectories, Asia produces and consumes more energy in different sectors than any other part of the world. Also, however, Asia serves as a core region of innovative ideas in energy and related sectors.

Landscape Planning And Rural Development written by Carlo Rega and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-05-20 with Political Science categories.
This book aims to contribute to the current debate on how to integrate rural development policies and landscape planning in rural areas. It highlights the key issues at stake and the possibilities for synergies between landscape planning and policies in light of European development policies, particularly the EU’s Rural Development Policy and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Case studies from different rural contexts and landscapes are provided, illustrating tools and options to make the advocated integration operational. Recommendations and guidance to policy making are proposed. The case studies presented cover 1) the use of visual assessment techniques to support landscape planning in rural areas; 2) participative applications of landscape assessment techniques in peri-urban areas; 3) multi-scale approaches to landscape management in Alpine areas and 4) the application of landscape economic evaluation to foster rural development strategies.
