The dissertation deals with perspectives on Religious Education at German comprehensive schools which were created during the 2010s. It searches for conditions and potentials of Religious Education at the referred types of school. It especially focuses on models for Religious Education as a school subject, successful activities regarding ‘Religion and school life’ as well as on characteristics of new comprehensive schools. It combines both questions on Religious Education as a subject and on school development. The empirical study is based on 17 interviews with teachers and school principals at so-called ‘Oberschulen’ and ‘Integrierte Gesamtschulen’, which were analyzed by qualitative content analysis. The study provides results to a neglected area of research: many studies on Religious Education or Educational Science look at grammar schools. The study creates starting points for diverse discourses and target groups. It demonstrates that Religious Education makes an important contribution to school education, but that it is time to modify some approaches and activities.

[How to become and be a Religious Education Teacher in the 21st Century. Transformation Processes in Profession and Professional Formation of RE Teachers] Religious education in schools is in a state of upheaval. Among other things, it has to deal with a growing heterogeneity of students' religious and ideological beliefs, and is going to cope with this by means of didactic and organizational reforms. This is reflected in growing expectations regarding competencies and knowledge of »religion teachers« that need to be worked on in academic teaching, traineeship and further education. A consultation with participants from these three stages of teacher education has discussed problems and solutions at the invitation of the Assemblies of Protestant as well as Catholic Theological Faculties (E-TFT and KThF), the Conference of Institutes for Protestant Theology (KIET) and the mixed reform committees in management of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD) in September 2022. This volume documents the contributions and thus offers a dense insight into the current reform of theological-religious education.

Article 7 (3) of the German "Grundgesetz" gives space for the organizational and conceptual design and further development of religious education in schools. Denomination-oriented religious education constitutively includes the fundamental right to negative as well as positive freedom of religion. It also opens a wide range of possibilities for participation for smaller religious communities as well as for non-religious groups. Starting from the basic constitutional norm, the volume develops perspectives for a sustainable religious education in the light of various religious and secular communities and explores possibilities for cooperation between religious education and its substitute subjects such as ethics, philosophy or "values and norms".

"The influence of materialist ontology largely dominates philosophical and scientific discussions. However, there is a resurgent interest in alternative ontologies from panpsychism (the view that at the base of reality exists potential minds, minds, or mind-lets) to idealism and dualism (the view that all of reality is material and mental). The Routledge Handbook of Idealism and Immaterialism is an outstanding reference source and the first major collection of its kind. Historically grounded and constructively motivated, it covers the key topics in philosophy, science, and theology, providing students and scholars with a comprehensive introduction to idealism and immaterialism. Also addressed is post-materialism developments, with explicit attention to variations of idealism and immaterialism (the view that reality depends on a mind or a set of minds). Comprising forty-four chapters written by an international and interdisciplinary team of contributors, the Handbook is organised into five clear parts: Idealism and the History of Philosophy Important Figures in Idealism Systematic Assessment of Idealism and Science Idealism, Physicalism, Panpsychism, and Substance Dualism. Essential reading for students and researchers in metaphysics, philosophy of science, philosophy of religion, and philosophy of mind, The Routledge Handbook of Idealism and Immaterialism will also be of interest to those in related discplines where idealist and immaterialist ontology impinge on history, science, and theology"--

In Christian theology, the teaching that Christ possessed both a human and divine will is central to the doctrine of two natures, but it also represents a logical paradox, raising questions about how a person can be both impeccable and subject to temptation. This volume explores these questions through an analytic theology approach, bringing together 15 original papers that explore the implications of a strong libertarian concept of free will for Christology. With perspectives from systematic theologians, philosophers, and biblical scholars, several chapters also offer a comparative theology approach, examining the concept of impeccability in the Muslim tradition. Therefore, this volume will be of interest to scholars and graduate students working in analytic theology, biblical scholarship, systematic theology, and Christian-Islamic dialogue.

Exile and migration played a critical role in the diffusion and development of modernism around the globe, yet have long remained largely understudied phenomena within art historiography. Focusing on the intersections of exile, artistic practice and urban space, this volume brings together contributions by international researchers committed to revising the historiography of modern art. It pays particular attention to metropolitan areas that were settled by migrant artists in the first half of the 20th century. These arrival cities developed into hubs of artistic activities and transcultural contact zones where ideas circulated, collaborations emerged, and concepts developed. Taking six major cities as a starting point – Bombay (now Mumbai), Buenos Aires, Istanbul, London, New York, and Shanghai –the authors explore how urban topographies and landscapes were modified by exiled artists re-establishing their practices in metropolises across the world. Questioning the established canon of Western modernism, Arrival Cities investigates how the migration of artists to different urban spaces impacted their work and the historiography of art. In doing so, it aims to encourage the discussion between international scholars from different research fields, such as exile studies, art history, social history, architectural history, architecture, and urban studies.

The Oxford Handbook Of Ritual And Worship In The Hebrew Bible written by Samuel E. Balentine and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-09-16 with Religion categories.

Ritual has a primal connection to the idea that a transcendent order - numinous and mysterious, supranatural and elusive, divine and wholly other - gives meaning and purpose to life. The construction of rites and rituals enables humans to conceive and apprehend this transcendent order, to symbolize it and interact with it, to postulate its truths in the face of contradicting realities and to repair them when they have been breached or diminished. This Handbook provides a compendium of the information essential for constructing a comprehensive and integrated account of ritual and worship in the ancient world. Its focus on ritual and worship from the perspective of biblical studies, as opposed to religious studies, highlights that the world of ritual and worship was a topic of central concern for the people of the Ancient Near East, including the world of the Bible. Given the scarcity of the material in the Bible itself, the authors in this collection use materials from the ancient Near East to provide a larger context for the practices of the biblical world, giving due attention to historical, anthropological, and social scientific methods that inform the context of biblical worship. The specifics of ritual and worship life-the sacred spaces, times, and actors in worship-are examined in detail, with essays covering both the divine and human aspects of the sacred dimension. The Oxford Handbook of Ritual and Worship in the Hebrew Bible considers several underlying concepts of ritual practice and closes with a theological outlook on worship and ritual from a variety of perspectives, demonstrating a fruitful exchange between biblical studies, ritual theory, and social science research.
