At the second major conference held in Salzburg in 2009 of The European Society for Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies (ESITIS), participants probed the broad theme of ‘interreligious hermeneutics in a pluralistic Europe’. In the contemporary time, when people of different cultures and religious traditions are being constantly drawn closer together, interreligious dialogue becomes not only a strategy to engage with the "Others," but an attitude to deepen one's faith. This view is conceivable through the framework of "inclusive pluralism," a theological concept developed by the Belgian-born Jesuit theologian Jacques Dupuis.
