El presente trabajo trata la resiliencia y la violencia domestica, donde ambas se interrelacionan a partir de factores internos y externos de cada persona. Una persona con caracteristicas resilientes es capaz de establecer relaciones sociales constructivas, con sentido positivo de si mismo, con perspectivas positivas frente a las dificultades y con metas posibles de alcanzar. La violencia domestica es un instrumento de poder, de caracter funcional respecto al sistema de genero dominante, destinado a reforzar la autoridad masculina y a velar por el cumplimiento de los roles atribuidos a las mujeres dentro de la familia y el hogar. Las causas de la violencia contra la mujer son muchas, por lo que es mas apropiado hablar de factores desencadenates, que se relacionan en un determinado tiempo y espacio, dando como resultado una variedad de manifestaciones violentas. A lo largo del presente trabajo se reflejara la relacion de estos dos conceptos, ya que siendo una persona mas resiliente se puede disminuir los efectos y consecuencias de la violencia domestica; a partir de la promocion del desarrollo de los pilares y componentes resilientes en la vida cotidiana de las personas."

La violencia doméstica es un problema grave, causa de una alarma social creciente. El hogar, el lugar más personal e íntimo para cada persona que debe darnos la mayor sensación de seguridad y de confort, pierde todas estas características y se convierte en un lugar de inseguridad, peligro y miedos, donde una persona (generalmente la mujer) puede ser maltratada y agredida, y además de forma impune y con la complicidad del silencio. El pacto de silencio que ha amparado durante años a este problema, al considerarse que lo que pasaba dentro de las paredes del hogar es algo íntimo en lo que no deben intervenir personas ajenas, ha permitido que la violencia doméstica se haya mantenido sin ningún esfuerzo por tratar de ponerle coto. Sería deseable erradicar de forma inmediata este fenómeno, y numerosos esfuerzos comienzan a confluir para lograr este objetivo, pero, dada la complejidad de factores (culturales, sociales, familiares y personales) implicados en su desarrollo y mantenimiento, los resultados sólo pueden conseguirse de forma gradual. Mientras tanto, las personas que están padeciendo esta situación necesitan ayuda y soluciones, algunas veces de forma desesperada. Las cifras de mujeres muertas anualmente por este problema no dejan de ser sobrecogedoras. Es necesario ofrecer soluciones, vías de acción para estas personas con un padecimiento tan importante y unas condiciones de vida tan angustiosas, tan injustas y tan crueles. Esta obra ofrece un programa de actuación para ayudar a las víctimas de la violencia doméstica a identificar su problema, a aprender unas pautas de acción eficaz sea cual sea su situación actual, a superar las secuelas que pueda haberles producido el maltrato y, desde luego, a desarrollar, si es necesario, una nueva vida social.

Gender has a fundamental influence on the human brain, not only by virtue of biological and hormonal differences between the sexes but also because of the impact of gender-specific cultural, social, anthropological and environmental factors.
