This book is both an awakening and a reviving manual, with a series of suggested spiritual retreat programmes to guide the beginners. The author, Z.T. Fomum provides an answer to the many questions that Christians often ask themselves, concerning either their own spiritual progress or the spiritual progress of other believers. These questions can be summed up as follows: 1) How do you overcome the tendency to activism which makes agitated believers unable to be calm before God in order to seek Him? 2) How do you know God so that you can serve Him from deep knowledge? 3) In a word, how do you walk from one degree of progress to another in our generation? The author invites us, in response to these many questions, to experience a life of spiritual retreats. That life is a prelude to the great final retreat that the Lord will soon take with His church. Therefore, retreats are presented as a sign of love for the Lord and an activity in preparation for our final retreat with the Lord. Retreats for spiritual progress are to be taken regularly as a way of life. To resolve questions relating to the preparation and planning of a spiritual retreat, the author suggests, as a guide, a series of retreat programmes ranging from 15 minutes to several hours and days. In devising a format for several types of retreats, the author effectively answers the question of what should be done step-by-step during a retreat. You just need to choose the type of retreat you wish to take and just follow the instructions given in the book by the author. This book is both an awakening and a reviving instrument.

I am burdened by the increasing numbers of believers who know the Lord very superficially. They do not love Him. They find the time spent in His presence uninteresting. Often they do not know what to say to Him.We live in a generation that does not provide for quiet. Everything is moving fast. There is so much activity going on. The leaders of the day, be they in worldly circles or in the Church, are activists. Those who withdraw to wait on God are few.We believe that when believers in an increasing number, begin to withdraw and spend time alone in God's presence, something will happen to them. They will know God and then they will seek Him more and more. They will serve Him from His presence and things will be different. They will make spiritual progress. We send out this small book with prayer that the Lord will use it to help some make spiritual progress by withdrawing to seek God, know Him and obey Him.If you have been blessed through reading this book, please help put a copy in the hands of another believer and pray that he, too, will be blessed.

"If we do not know what happens in our heart ... we are like 'animals that understand nothing, ' that move along through instinct (cf. Jude 1:10). But we are not animals, we are children of God, baptized with the gift of the Holy Spirit. For this reason, it is important to understand what has happened each day in my heart." --Pope Francis, encouraging the practice of a daily examen (morning meditation for September 4, 2018) By the end of his life, St. Ignatius of Loyola could say of himself, "Whenever he wished, at whatever hour, he could find God." This sensitivity to God's presence didn't just happen. Instead, it was the fruit of his daily practice of prayerfully examining his thoughts, feelings, words, and actions under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Fortunately for the rest of us, St. Ignatius taught this method of prayer to the members of the religious order he founded, the Society of Jesus ("the Jesuits"); he thought it was so important to their spiritual life, he required them to pray it twice a day. Over the centuries, millions of ordinary Christians have made the Ignatian Examen--also known as the Daily Examen--a regular part of their prayer life. Like St. Ignatius and like Pope Francis, they have found it to be a powerful aid to spiritual growth. Now, The Daily Examen Journal: A 30-Day Spiritual Retreat offers a way to practice the Ignatian Examen in a beautiful journal format. The practice of journaling the Examen has its roots with St. Ignatius himself; he kept a treasured notebook of his spiritual insights, and encouraged his Jesuits to keep a simple written record of their spiritual progress from day to day. The Daily Examen Journal includes: - a thorough introduction to the spirit and practice of the Ignatian Examen; - 30 step-by-step guided journal entries; - a different inspirational prayer from the saints or the book of Psalms for each day's entry; - beautiful black-and-white hand-drawn art. The Daily Examen Journal is a helpful aid to anyone who wants a more focused, guided experience of the Daily Examen...and, when it is finished, a written record of his or her spiritual journey.

Spirituality is not just about religion. It is about the connection you feel to the world as a whole. Human beings were not meant to feel alone. We are social animals that have, throughout our history, felt like a part of nature-one that has its own spirit and is not simply a vessel of nerves and muscles. It's not uncommon to find yourself drifting away from that feeling of soul and spirit. Spiritual healing retreats are designed to bring you back. This book explores how you can integrate and nurture the You that you experienced on retreat, and bring her home for good. In this book, the author will take you through a process to do just that: -Get a grip on where you are in terms of both your post-retreat integration process and your everyday real life. -Get real about who you are right now, both in relation to your practical life and your spiritual journey. -Explore and reconnect with that heart-opened, loving You that you experienced on retreat and nurture her. -Name your intentions for your life post-retreat, both on a practical day-to-day level and in service to You. -Commit to these intentions and create a practical plan to honor these commitments. -Recognize that trust and love are already flowing in this process and are the bridge between the spiritual retreat You and the You in your everyday world and apply this to stay on track.

Excerpt from A Spiritual Retreat The following Retreat is intended mainly for the benefit of those who are dedicated to the love and service of God in the religious and the priestly life, and who wish to remind themselves from time to time of the solid principles appertaining so closely to their state, which give both spirit and strength to the discharge of their many arduous external works. At the same time, as it runs on what may be called the broad lines of Gospel Christianity, much of it may be found suitable to the needs of all who take an earnest view of life - who realise that the attainment of life's end is ever their chief business, and who, in view of progressing to the end, awaken their interest in the work, seeking first to know, and then to go the way. It is hardly necessary to add that our spiritual progress is very gradual, and is indeed a lifelong work, and consequently often in practice more of a striving and an aiming than a perfect doing. Fifteen minutes is a lot of time! A lot can happen in fifteen minutes. Someone may not be able to find time to pray for one hour in a stretch in the morning, afternoon, or evening. For others, if they found time, they might not know how to use it. Each of these groups of people can use the suggested programme for fifteen-minute retreats that are in the following pages and find their prayer life transformed. We have used the fifteen periods of one minute each since most believers will be able to have enough to talk to the Lord about any topic for one minute, whereas some believers may not have enough to say to the Lord about a topic for three minutes.
