Complexity And Emergence written by Sergio Albeverio and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-05-07 with Mathematics categories.
This book includes contributions about mathematics, physics, philosophy of science, economics and finance and resulted from the Summer School “Complexity and Emergence: Ideas, Methods, with a Special Attention to Economics and Finance” held in Lake Como School of Advanced Studies, on 22–27 July 2018. The aim of the book is to provide useful instruments from the theory of complex systems, both on the theoretical level and the methodological ones, profiting from knowledge and insights from leading experts of different communities. It moves from the volume editors' conviction that to achieve progress in understanding socio-economical as well as ecological problems of our complex word such preparation is needed, together with a critical reconsideration of our basic scientific and economical approach. The potential readers are primarily master and doctorate students of mathematics, information sciences, theoretical physics and economics, as well as research workers in those areas, who want to enlarge their spectrum of knowledge towards the area of complexity and emergence. Since ideas and methods of the theory of complex systems also apply to other areas (from engineering and architecture to biology and medicine, e.g.), students and research workers from those areas will also profit from this book.

Regenerative Design written by Carlos Cobreros and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-06-16 with Science categories.
This book aims to provide bases for reasoning on what opportunities the regenerative approaches to urban-architectural design and development can bring to our territories and living systems (environment, society, city and learning). It collects research, experiences and considerations from experts that present innovations from different contexts, especially from the Latin-Mediterranean context. The goal of this book is to provide the reader with case studies, analysis and guidelines, resulting from scientific research from academia and practice. The book collects research focused on topics that are nowadays crucial to understand how to intervene in the complicated contexts of socio-environmental emergencies. These studies are organized into seven sections, discussing from the importance of new narrative facing future environmental challenges, to the appropriate methodologies and approaches for regenerative culture with systemic view. The book closes with outputs, dreams and hopes of regenerative design: challenges and opportunities to rewrite our alliance with the environment and to move forward our relation with the socio-environmental capital.

Life Cycle Assessment Lca Of Environmental And Energy Systems written by Fabrizio Passarini and has been published by MDPI this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-04-01 with Science categories.
The transition towards renewable energy sources and “green” technologies for energy generation and storage is expected to mitigate the climate emergency in the coming years. However, in many cases, this progress has been hampered by our dependency on critical materials or other resources that are often processed at high environmental burdens. Yet, many studies have shown that environmental and energy issues are strictly interconnected and require a comprehensive understanding of resource management strategies and their implications. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is among the most inclusive analytical techniques to analyze sustainability benefits and trade-offs within complex systems and, in this Special Issue, it is applied to assess the mutual influences of environmental and energy dimensions. The selection of original articles, reviews, and case studies addressed covers some of the main driving applications for energy requirements and greenhouse gas emissions, including power generation, bioenergy, biorefinery, building, and transportation. An insightful perspective on the current topics and technologies, and emerging research needs, is provided. Alone or in combination with integrative methodologies, LCA can be of pivotal importance and constitute the scientific foundation on which a full system understanding can be reached.

"Part 1 provides an analytical overview of the Phenomenon and its growth in scale and complexity over the last fifteen years. It examines different aspects of the high-tech business community, including start-ups and spin-outs, the larger and long-established high-tech firms, firms that have moved into the region, and four of the key sectors - software, telecoms, biotechnology and technology consultancy. Changes in the University and related research institutes are also reviewed. Part 2 looks in greater depth at a number of particularly interesting aspects of the Cambridge high-tech cluster. Detailed analyses are made of two contrasting sectors: biotechnology, which has grown quickly and exhibits many of the attributes of competitive cluster; and instrumentation, which was one of the earliest foundations of high-tech business in Cambridge, but over the past fifteen years has recorded the weakest sectoral performance." -- BACK COVER.

Get started with creating intuitive native user interfaces on Android platforms using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with the help of this illustrated guide Key Features Distinguish between the imperative (Android View) and declarative (Jetpack Compose) approach Explore the Compose app structure, UI elements, and core concepts like state and composition over inheritance Enhance apps with animations, transitions and build for smartphones, tablets, and foldable devices Purchase of the print or Kindle book includes a free PDF eBook Book DescriptionCompose has caused a paradigm shift in Android development, introducing a variety of new concepts that are essential to an Android developer’s learning journey. It solves a lot of pain points associated with Android development and is touted to become the default way to building Android apps over the next few years. This second edition has been thoroughly updated to reflect all changes and additions that were made by Google since the initial stable release, and all examples are based on Material 3 (also called Material You). This book uses practical examples to help you understand the fundamental concepts of Jetpack Compose and how to use them when you are building your own Android applications. You’ll begin by getting an in-depth explanation of the declarative approach, along with its differences from and advantages over traditional user interface (UI) frameworks. Having laid this foundation, the next set of chapters take a practical approach to show you how to write your first composable function. The chapters will also help you master layouts, an important core component of every UI framework, and then move to more advanced topics such as animation, testing, and architectural best practices. By the end of this book, you’ll be able to write your own Android apps using Jetpack Compose and Material Design. What you will learn Recognize the motivation behind Jetpack Compose Gain an understanding of the core concepts of Jetpack Compose Build a complete app using Jetpack Compose Utilize Jetpack Compose inside existing Android applications Test and debug apps that use Jetpack Compose Understand Material Design and how it is implemented using Jetpack Compose Write apps for different form factors Bring your Compose UI to other platforms Who this book is for If you’re an Android developer with existing knowledge of the Kotlin programming language looking to learn how to build modern Android user interfaces using Jetpack Compose, then this book is for you.
