Successful leaders tend to have one thing in common: They are experts in social interaction. They express themselves clearly and effectively, understand their colleagues, and adapt to all situations. A leader needs to not only be able to inspire, motivate, and convince those around them, but also listen, be attentive, and adapt to their coworkers. It is by combining these skills that the authors of this book have come up with the Leaderspritz: an interpersonal leadership cocktail. Written by experts in the field of leadership education in universities and corporations, Leaderspritz is based exclusively on scientific research. Whether a person is currently in a leadership position or about to become a leader, this accessible, interactive reference, which is rich in empirical results, anecdotes, scientific theories, and practical tools, will allow them to improve their skills and successfully carry out their responsibilities.

Projektfeld Ausstellung Project Scope Exhibition Design written by Aurelia Bertron and has been published by Walter de Gruyter this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11-05 with Architecture categories.

The book is a fundamental reference work for exhibition designers, architects, and museum professionals who want to adequately conceive, design, plan, and produce clearly focused thematic exhibitions. Each thematic field represents different challenges for an exhibition design. This typology by Bertron Schwarz Frey elaborates the special features of the various thematic fields – nature, archeology, history, art, and science. Sketches, floor plans, visualizations, and photographs illustrate the approach, whose essential structure remains the same while finding a different solution for each theme. For students of architecture, interior design, exhibition design, scenography, and visual communication it is also useful as an introduction to the subject. The book presents current exhibitions including the Museum für Naturkunde and the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Pommersches Landesmuseum in Greifswald, and the Württembergisches Landesmuseum in Stuttgart. Ulrich Schwarz has been professor of design at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2000.

Libraries are places of learning and knowledge creation. Over the last two decades, digital technology—and the changes that came with it—have accelerated this transformation to a point where evolution starts to become a revolution. The wider Open Science movement, and Open Access in particular, is one of these changes and is already having a profound impact. Under the subscription model, the role of libraries was to buy or license content on behalf of their users and then act as gatekeepers to regulate access on behalf of rights holders. In a world where all research is open, the role of the library is shifting from licensing and disseminating to facilitating and supporting the publishing process itself. This requires a fundamental shift in terms of structures, tasks, and skills. It also changes the idea of a library’s collection. Under the subscription model, contemporary collections largely equal content bought from publishers. Under an open model, the collection is more likely to be the content created by the users of the library (researchers, staff, students, etc.), content that is now curated by the library. Instead of selecting external content, libraries have to understand the content created by their own users and help them to make it publicly available—be it through a local repository, payment of article processing charges, or through advice and guidance. Arguably, this is an overly simplified model that leaves aside special collections and other areas. Even so, it highlights the changes that research libraries are undergoing, changes that are likely to accelerate as a result of initiatives such as Plan S. This Special Issue investigates some of the changes in today’s library services that relate to open access.

For liberals, the question “Do others live rightly?” seems to demand a follow-up question: “Who am I to judge?” Peaceful coexistence, in this view, is predicated on restraint from morally evaluating our peers. But Rahel Jaeggi argues that criticizing is not only valid but also useful. Moral judgment is no error—the error lies in how we go about it.

CARL JUNG MADE EASY Jung - the Key Ideas is designed to quickly familiarize you with the revolutionary thinking of Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology. Explaining Jung's complex ideas in simple terms, and backing it up with references to his own texts, you will learn all the essential concepts, from the collective unconscious to archetypes in dreams. You will learn about Jung's upbringing and the development of his thinking. Discover his early work and influences and how they came to shape his ideological and spiritual development. The intricacies of Jung's complex systems of thought are discussed in a straightforward and jargon-free way with particular focus on his lifelong fascination with the spiritual, the numinous, the inner world and the self-realization of the unconscious. Jung's exploration of mythology, dreams, visions and fantasies, as well as his studies into the journey of the psyche, are all explained, making often complex theories easy to get to grips with and the book also looks at his legacy and how his work and ideas have shaped psychology with many therapists still trained in the Jungian method.

Since antiquity, people have been asking themselves what it means to live a good life. How should I live? What constitutes a good life? What's the role of fate? What's the role of money? Is leading a good life a question of mindset, or is it more about reaching your goals? Is it better to actively seek happiness or to avoid unhappiness? Each generation poses these questions anew, and somehow the answers are always fundamentally disappointing. Why? Because we're constantly searching for a single principle, a single tenet, a single rule. Yet this holy grail--a single, simple path to happiness--doesn't exist. Rolf Dobelli -- successful businessman, founder of the TED-style ideas conference Zurich Minds, bestselling author, and all-around seeker of big ideas--has made finding a shortcut to happiness his life's mission. He's synthesized the leading thinkers and the latest science in happiness to find the best shortcuts to satisfaction in The Art of the Good Life, his follow up to the international bestseller The Art of Thinking Clearly (which has sold more than 2.5 million copies in 40 languages all around the globe). The Art of the Good Life is a toolkit designed for practical living. Here you'll find fifty-two happiness hacks -- from guilt-free shunning of technology to gleefully paying your parking tickets -- that are certain to optimize your happiness. These tips may not guarantee you a good life, but they'll give you a better chance (and that's all any of us can ask for).
