Historische Forschung gewinnt für die Religionspädagogik (wieder) an Bedeutung. Elisabeth Hohensee zeigt am Beispiel neuzeitlich-katechetischer Lehrbücher, welchen Gestaltungslogiken historische Forschung im Rahmen religionspädagogischer Theoriebildung folgt. Mithilfe der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse untersucht sie die Darstellung des altkirchlichen Katechumenats in den zwischen 1750 und 1900 veröffentlichten Lehrbüchern der Katechetik. Für ihre Analyse und den daran anschließenden Entwurf historischer Religionspädagogik macht die Autorin den Rezeptionsbegriff fruchtbar. Die wissenschaftstheoretischen Überlegungen zeigen, wie historische Forschung im Modus von Rezeption einen Beitrag auch zur Gegenwartsorientierung der Religionspädagogik leisten kann.
