As the Founder and Managing Director of SalsaEverybody.com Dance School, I am a Dance Educator, DJ, Animator, and the Organizer of the Tropical Dance Escape holiday event concept (check out our Tropical Dance Escape Facebook page). For over 30 years, I have immersed myself in the world of dance, refining my skills across a variety of styles, and I’ve been teaching for the past 15 years. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals of all skill levels—from beginners to seasoned dancers. Whether through weekly classes in Dungarvan, Dublin, and Waterford City, or private lessons for special occasions like hen nights, stag parties, and weddings, I aim to make dance accessible, fun, and transformative for all. Along the way, I've faced many challenges, but my love for dance and its ability to change lives has always driven me forward. I’ve been fortunate to be invited to teach workshops and DJ at international dance festivals and congresses nearly every month, traveling around the world to share my love for dance. These global experiences have expanded my understanding of dance cultures and connected me with fellow dance enthusiasts and artists worldwide. In addition to my dance experience, I hold an internationally recognized 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo from the World Taekwondo Federation (W.T.F.) and am a certified Fitness Instructor. These disciplines have not only shaped my approach to dance but also my ability to teach with precision, confidence, and dedication. I believe that dance is not just an art form—it's a path to holistic wellness, where physical, mental, and emotional growth intertwine. My philosophy is simple: Dance is for everyone. Regardless of age, background, or experience, I firmly believe that dance transcends boundaries. It’s a powerful means of expression, a way to improve physical and mental health, and a medium to forge deep connections with others. Many of my students have shared how dance has brought them joy, alleviated stress, and even strengthened their relationships. Whether you're just starting with two left feet or are already an experienced dancer, I strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where you can grow, explore, and enjoy the rhythm of life. The Dance Styles and Cultures I Teach I’ve been fortunate enough to immerse myself in a wide variety of dance styles, each with its own cultural significance and unique rhythm. I teach: Rumba Son Orishas Kizomba Semba Dominican Bachata Tarraxinha Konpa Timba Salsa Cha Cha Cha Zouk Love Merengue Each style brings its own beauty, history, and story to tell. I aim to instill both technical mastery and a deep appreciation for the cultures behind these dances. Modern Dance In Germany And The United States written by Isa Partsch-Bergsohn and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-05 with Performing Arts categories.

First Published in 1995. In Modern Dance in Germany and the United States: Crosscurrents and Influences Isa PartschBergsohn discusses the phenomenon of the modem dance movement between 1902 and 1986 in an international context, focussing on its beginnings in Europe and its philosophy as formulated by the pioneers Dalcroze, Laban, Wigman and Jooss. The author traces the effects the Third Reich had on these artists, and shows the influence these key choreographers had on the developing American modem dance movement through the postwar years, concentrating in particular on Kurt Jooss and his Tanztheater. When America took the lead in modem dance innovation during the sixties, artists such as Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Paul Taylor, Alvin Ailey and Alwin Nikolais overwhelmed European audiences. Subsequently, the artists of the New German Tanztheater revitalized German theatre traditions by blending new content with some of the American contemporary dance techniques. Although the history of modem dance in these two countries is closely linked, the author describes how each country has kept its own unique and distinctive style.

Exploring Aesthetic Approaches To Arts Integration written by Marina Sotiropoulou-Zormpala and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-05-30 with Education categories.

This book re‐examines the role of arts integration in the preschool and primary school curricula, arguing for the creation of an educational environment where children can process every taught subject as an aesthetic stimulus. Deriving from the author’s earlier work, this scholarly volume attempts to develop novel criteria for arts integration curricula, through examining the effects of different indicative arts integration activities implemented in preschool and primary classrooms. Taking a pedagogical approach, chapters enable readers to connect theoretical insights, implementation strategies and corresponding methodological guidelines. Ultimately, this book argues that the aesthetic integration of the arts into the curricula of preschool and primary schools has three distinct, important effects on the educational process: fostering a more creative and productive education through a multilevel approach, creating opportunities for holistic education by enhancing children’s multifaceted learning involvement and promoting multimodal and inclusive education by providing diverse resources of meaning‐making. This book will be of interest to researchers, postgraduate students and academics in the fields of primary education, curriculum studies, teacher education and arts education. Educational policymakers and teacher trainers may also benefit from this volume more broadly.

The field of adapted physical education and sport has undergone numerous changes in recent years. This new edition of Adapted Physical Education and Sport will help you stay on top of those changes and, in doing so, provide the highest-quality physical education and sport opportunities for students with disabilities. NEW MATERIAL The sixth edition of this well-loved text builds on its successful previous editions and is replete with changes that are current with today’s trends and practices in the field: • As the inclusion movement continues to expand, the authors have revised several chapters to detail relevant inclusion practices and applications in both physical education and sport, helping to integrate students with disabilities into regular class and sport settings with guidelines for modifying activities. • The chapter on adapted sport is further developed to communicate and reflect on progress in the field and includes a Sport Framework for Individuals with Disabilities model to help develop and implement sport programs. • The book gives attention to the revised Brockport Physical Fitness Test, and the accompanying web resource offers video clips that explain and demonstrate the criterion-referenced health-related tests that are applicable to many students with disabilities. • Advances and applications pertaining to behavior management and wheelchair sport performance are covered in various chapters. • The authors address the use of new technology as it relates to teaching and administration for adapted physical education and explore stand-alone apps that can be used in conjunction with the book that are useful in behavior management, fitness development, communication, social interaction, and physical education activities. • The authors give increased attention to the problem of obesity, particularly relevant to students with disabilities. • Many new authors and a coeditor have been brought on board, bringing fresh perspectives to the book and adding to the depth of experience provided by the returning authors and editor. These additions help Adapted Physical Education and Sport maintain its reputation as a comprehensive, user-friendly text that helps teachers provide top-quality services to people with unique physical education needs. Greatly influenced by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, this book helps in identifying the unique needs of students and developing physical education programs, including individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, that are consistent with current federal legislation. STRONG ANCILLARIES The text is augmented by its ancillaries, which include an instructor guide, test package, presentation package, and web resource with video. The instructor guide offers chapter objectives, additional resources, and learning and enrichment activities that will help students master the content and extend their knowledge. The test package helps in building custom tests using hundreds of test questions and answers. You will find hundreds of PowerPoint slides that reinforce the text’s key points in the presentation package, and the web resource includes 26 videos of the new Brockport Physical Fitness Test in action as well as several reproducibles from the book. DEEPENED UNDERSTANDING The authors, renowned authorities in their fields, use real-life scenarios to introduce chapter concepts and then show how to apply the concepts in solving issues. The text will help deepen understanding of the implications of disabilities for people through age 21 (though much of the book is relevant in the entire life span). It grounds readers in the foundational topics for adapted physical education and sport, explores the developmental considerations involved, and outlines activities for developing programs for people with unique physical education needs. The book offers a four-color design to draw attention to important elements and provides separate author and subject indexes as well as resources with each chapter and on the web resource for further exploration. Adapted Physical Education and Sport supplies all that is needed for enriching the lives of students with disabilities by providing them with the high-quality programs they deserve.

This book locates the philosophy of Ubuntu as the undergirding framework for indigenous dance pedagogies in local communities in Uganda. Through critical examination of the reflections and practices of selected local dance teachers, the volume reveals how issues of inclusion, belonging, and agency are negotiated through a creatively complex interplay between individuality and communality. The analysis frames pedagogies as sites where reflective thought and kinaesthetic practice converge to facilitate ever-evolving individual imagination and community innovations.

The author takes a new approach to teaching notation through movement exercises, thus enlarging the scope of the book to teachers of movement and choreography as well as the traditional dance notation students. Updated and enlarged to reflect the most recent scholarship and through a series of exercises, this book guides students through: movement, stillness, timing, shaping, accents travelling direction, flexion and extension rotations, revolutions and turns supporting balance relationships. All of these movements are related to notation, so the student learns how to notate and describe the movements as they are performed.

Rhythm And Movement written by Elsa Findlay and has been published by Alfred Music this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-11-16 with Music categories.

"Of the three elements of music -- rhythm, melody, and harmony -- rhythm has received the least attention from the theorists, yet it is indisputably the basic element without which there is no musical art." Such is the first sentence of this book on use of the body to express musical rhythm. Elsa Findlay is eminently qualified to write on this subject, having been a student of Emile-Jaques Dalcroze, the master himself, also from her own experience in a variety of teaching situations. These included schools of dance and theater, colleges and universities, and The Cleveland Institute of Music, one of the first to offer a BMus degree with a major in eurhythmics. Each chapter concentrates on a different phase of rhythm: tempo, dynamics, duration, metrical patterns, speech and rhythm patterns, phrase and form, pitch and melody, and creative expression. Activities for each phase are outlined in detail and illustrated by charming drawings and photos. Appendices furnish further suggestions for exercises, games, action songs, and suitable music.
