Coordination between infant and adult is thought to be essential to infant development. However, the study is theoretically and methodologically grounded in a dyadic systems perspective and relational psychoanalysis. Our automated apparatus explores the micro-second timing of 4-month infant-adult vocal coordination to predict 12-month infant attachment and cognition. This work also further defines a fundamental dyadic timing matrix that guides the trajectory of infant development.

Dialogue written by Linda Ellinor and has been published by Crossroad Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-03-11 with Self-Help categories.

Originally published in 1998 by John Wiley & Sons, this book offers insights, skills, and suggestions for how to introduce David Bohm’s proposal of Dialogue into organizational contexts. In 1990 Peter Senge called Dialogue a key leadership tool for promoting team learning and fostering shared meaning, and community. The insights and skills offered in Dialogue: Discover the transforming power of conversation are just as relevant today as they were in 1998 or 1798 and will be far into the future. By republishing this book as an ebook, the material will now be more easily available. How do we, as members of a global human family engage the questions of global climate change, poverty, growing income inequality, wars, etc.? These are complex systemic issues with viewpoints becoming increasingly polarized. Many feel that the world is more divided and fragmented than ever. Dialogue is a way of connecting across such gaps of meaning; of listening, of speaking and being deeply heard and respected, building the trust that fosters people talking across positions and beliefs. New portals can then open for seeing beyond the levels of thinking that created the problems in the first place. Dialogue leads to new possibilities and hope for a vital future. Linda Ellinor and Glenna Gerard, co-founders of The Dialogue Group, collectively draw upon 50+ years of experience in multiple contexts ranging from corporations, education, and government, to personal and professional coaching. While the strategies in this book are focused on business contexts, they can help anyone to: –Develop trust building skills to speak about 'undiscussable' issues that block creativity, learning, effectiveness and satisfaction –Build strong and vital agreements that foster shared responsibility, collaboration, and accountability –Open doors to new and innovative ways of thinking and problem solving –See the roots of recurring problems' and make different choices moving forward –Reawaken and vitalize meaning, satisfaction and inspiration in all relationships, personal and professional. The Dialogue Group www.thedialoguegroup.net, is a consulting firm, with two private retreat centers, specializing in training and application of interpersonal communication skills for collaboration, full system engagement, innovation and strategic systemic thinking. A partial list of organizational clients include Boeing, 3COM, Silicon Graphics Inc., Levi Strauss & Company, University of San Diego, The Fetzer Institute, and The American Cancer Society.

Beautiful ancient Greek and Roman song forms have come alive-and why? Because two modern poets-German and American-were determined to make it happen. Two languages, one form. A dialogue of two spirits who couldn't be more different shows what unifies humanity: friendship. Martin Bidney is 74, Philipp Restetzki is 30. For two years they corresponded in classical odes, filling the ancient forms with thoughts about their lives and those of poets gone before - American, German, Greek, Roman, Egyptian. Two personalities are unfolded for you along with the variety of the two poets' likings and experience, shifting moods and penetrating thoughts, and contrasting attitudes and outlooks, too. Philipp appears at times the lyrical romantic nature-hiker, Martin as the bifocal-Buddhist, gazing while the world retreats. You never can tell what the next episode or topic will be.

This multidisciplinary book shows how to foster meaningful relationships between therapists and vulnerable children, through exploring the concept of communicative musicality and creating rhythms of connection. It includes broad and in-depth contributions from leading therapists from diverse backgrounds - including Peter A. Levine, Daniel Hughes, Stephen Porges, Dennis McCarthy and many more. Contributors reflect on their own experiences, providing insights from the fields of music therapy, trauma, dance and movement therapy, psychobiology, dramatherapy, counselling, play therapy, and education. Contemporary theory is woven in with case stories to highlight the emotional realities of working with highly vulnerable children, and to present proven examples of how therapists can improve the quality of connectedness. Full of original and innovative ideas for working with attachment issues, trauma, communication difficulties, autism, learning disabilities, aggression and anxiety, this is inspiring reading for professionals who work with vulnerable children in creative therapies. Royalty proceeds from the book will be donated to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), UK.

Film Dialogue written by Jeff Jaeckle and has been published by Columbia University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-07-09 with Performing Arts categories.

Film Dialogue is the first anthology in film studies devoted to the topic of language in cinema, bringing together leading and emerging scholars to discuss the aesthetic, narrative, and ideological dimensions of film speech that have largely gone unappreciated and unheard. Consisting of thirteen essays divided into three sections: genre, auteur theory, and cultural representation, Film Dialogue revisits and reconfigures several of the most established topics in film studies in an effort to persuade readers that "spectators" are more accurately described as "audiences," that the gaze has its equal in eavesdropping, and that images are best understood and appreciated through their interactions with words. Including an introduction that outlines a methodology of film dialogue study and adopting an accessible prose style throughout, Film Dialogue is a welcome addition to ongoing debates about the place, value, and purpose of language in cinema.

Psycholinguistic Research Ple Psycholinguistics written by Doris Aaronson and has been published by Psychology Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-20 with Psychology categories.

Originally published in 1979, this book represents an effort to bring together the two disciplines at the core of psycholinguistics, psychology and linguistics. It discusses a broad variety of theoretical approaches to psycholinguistics as well as covering a wide range of topics. At the time the book had four goals: to discuss many of the important contemporary issues in psycholinguistics; to explore the different views on major theoretical controversies; to provide an analysis of background literature as a framework in which to evaluate the issues and controversies; and to describe interesting high-quality research currently being done by the authors and some of their colleagues. Today it can be read and enjoyed in its historical context, with many of the chapters still relevant in psycholinguistic research today.

Bodies And Social Rhythms written by Steven Knoblauch and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-13 with Psychology categories.

This exciting new book traces the development of an unfolding challenge for psychoanalytic attention, which augments contemporary theoretical lenses focusing on structures of meaning, with an accompanying registration different than and interacting with structural experience. This accompanying registration of experience is given the term ‘fluidity’ in order to characterize it as too fast moving and unformulated to be symbolized with linguistic categorization. Expanding attention from speech meaning to include embodied registrations of rhythm involving tonality, pauses and accents can catalyze additional and often emotionally more significant communications central to the state of the transactional field in any psychoanalytic moment. This perspective is contextualized within recognition of how cultural practices and beliefs are carried along both structural and fluid registrations of experience and can shape emotional turbulence for both interactants in a clinical encounter. Experiences of gender, culture, class and race emerging as sources of conflict and mis-recognition are engaged and illustrated throughout the text. This book, part of the popular "Psychoanalysis in a New Key" book series, will appeal to teaching and practicing psychoanalysts, but also an increasing volume of therapists attending to embodied experience in their practice and drawn to the practical clinical illustrations.

Rhythmic Modernism written by Helen Rydstrand and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-24 with Literary Criticism categories.

Contrary to the common view that cultural modernism is a broadly anti-mimetic movement, one which turned away from traditional artistic goals of representing the world, Rhythmic Modernism argues that rhythm and mimesis are central to modernist aesthetics. Through detailed close readings of non-fiction and short stories, Helen Rydstrand shows that textual rhythms comprised the substance of modernist mimesis. Rhythmic Modernism demonstrates how many modernist writers, such as D. H. Lawrence, Katherine Mansfield and Virginia Woolf, were profoundly invested in mimicking a substratum of existence that was conceived as rhythmic, each displaying a fascination with rhythm, both as a formal device and as a vital, protean concept that helped to make sense of the complex modern world.
