Road Traffic Analysis Theoretical Approaches And Practical Solutions written by Elżbieta Macioszek and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-01-10 with Computers categories.
This book presents many valuable tips for making decisions related to road traffic in transport networks. The knowledge base in practical examples, as well as the decision support systems described in this volume, finds interest among people who face the daily challenge of searching for advanced solutions and practical applications in road traffic engineering. The publication is therefore addressed to local authorities related to the planning and development of development strategies for selected areas with regard to transport (both in the urban and regional dimension) and to representatives of business and industry, as people directly involved in the implementation of traffic engineering solutions. The tips contained in individual sections of the publication allow to look at a given problem in an advanced way and facilitate the selection of the appropriate strategy (among others, in relation to the heuristic approach to assessing the performance efficiency of road intersections inurban environments from the resilience perspective, modeling the distribution of transport pollutants in a naturally ventilated road tunnel, development of a camera-based parking monitoring system with an automatic parking spot identification). In turn, due to a new approach to theoretical models (including, inter alia, problems with the safety of passengers at tram stops or energy-efficient radio platforms for the implementation of nodes of sensor networks), the publication also interests scientists and researchers carrying out research in this area. The publication entitled "Road Traffic Analysis, Theoretical Approaches and Practical Solutions" contains selected papers submitted to and presented at the 19th “Transport Systems. Theory and Practice” Scientific and Technical Conference organized by the Department of Transport Systems, Traffic Engineering and Logistics at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology. The conference took placeon September 18–19, 2023, in Katowice (Poland).

This volume presents many valuable tips for making decisions related to road traffic in transport networks. The knowledge base in practical examples, as well as the decision support systems described in this volume, will find interest among people who face the daily challenge of searching for solutions in the area of road traffic research, analysis, and modeling. The publication is therefore addressed to local authorities related to the planning and development of strategies for selected areas with regard to transport (both in the urban and regional dimension), and to representatives of business and industry, as people directly involved in the implementation of traffic engineering solutions. The tips contained in individual sections of the publication will allow to look at a given problem in an advanced way and facilitate the selection of the appropriate strategy (among others, in relation to the smart mobility operation at signalized intersection level, studies the influence of health on travel mode choice to work, enhanced bl-based positioning system in road, estimation of energy consumption in case of a special off-road vehicle for people with special needs or the use of large data sets known as big data in modeling and traffic management processes). In turn, due to a new approach to theoretical models (including, inter alia, problems of pedestrian traffic on a pedestrian drawbridge, preference of electric cars using traffic lights, as well as probability of vehicle collision with road safety barriers), the publication will also interest scientists and researchers carrying out research in this area. The publication entitled "Road Traffic Research, Analysis, and Modeling" contains selected papers submitted to and presented at the 20th ”Transport Systems. Transport Systems And Urban Logistics written by Grzegorz Sierpiński and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-12-26 with Computers categories.
This book contains an abundance of numerical analyses based on significant data sets, illustrating the close affiliation between mobility and quality of life. What types of solutions can transform an urban zone into a Smart City? What parameters are important in the problem of optimizing supply strategies, especially at last-mile stage? How to use multi-criteria analysis when selecting parking locations? How to examine the condition of infrastructure and what impact it may have on delays in tram traffic? How to combine activities related to the suburbanization process with the integration of tariffs in public transport? This book provides you with answers to these and many other questions. With regard to the research results discussed and the selected solutions applied, the book primarily addresses the needs of three target groups: Scientists and researchers (ITS field) Local authorities (responsible for the transport systems at the urban and regional level) Representatives of business (traffic strategy management) and industry (manufacturers of ITS components). This book gathers selected papers presented at the 20th “Transport Systems. Theory and Practice” Scientific and Technical Conference organised by the Department of Transport Systems, Traffic Engineering and Logistics at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. The conference was held on 10–11 September 2024 in Katowice (Poland).

This book presents a number of guidelines that are particularly useful in the context of decisions related to system-approach-based modern traffic engineering for the development of transport networks. Including practical examples and describing decision-making support systems it provides valuable insights for those seeking solutions to contemporary transport system problems on a daily basis, such as professional working for local authorities involved in planning urban and regional traffic development strategies as well as representatives of business and industry directly involved in implementing traffic engineering solutions. The guidelines provided enable readers to address problems in a timely manner and simplify the choice of appropriate strategies (including those connected with the relation between pedestrians and vehicle traffic flows, IT development in freight transport, safety issues related to accidents in road tunnels, but also open areas, like roundabouts and crossings). Furthermore, since the book also examines new theoretical-model approaches (including the model of arrival time distribution forming in a dense vehicle flow, the methodological basis of modelling and optimization of transport processes in the interaction of railways and maritime transport, traffic flow surveys and measurements, transport behaviour patterns, human factors in traffic engineering, and road condition modelling), it also appeals to researches and scientists studying these problems. This book features selected papers submitted to and presented at the 16th Scientific and Technical Conference Transport Systems Theory and Practice organized by the Department of Transport Systems and Traffic Engineering at the Faculty of Transport of the Silesian University of Technology. The conference was held on 16–18 September 2019 in Katowice (Poland), more details at www.TSTP.polsl.pl.

Traffic And Transport Psychology written by Talib Rothengatter and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-09-08 with Transportation categories.
This volume gives an overview of the trends in Traffic and Transport Psychology. It reflects the considerable development of the most important factors for driving a road vehicle, and the variety of international research approaches. The first part contains basic approaches and integrated models as well as general theories and their implementation into Traffic and Transport Psychology. The second part deals with the driver, especially cognition, performance, social and differential effects and impairment. Important aspects are treated, such as speed perception, reaction times, interaction, risk acceptance, aggression and gender differences. Special chapters refer to performance and fatigue. The third part focuses on safety, driver support, selection and influencing drivers by enforcement, training and programs for the rehabilitation of traffic offenders. Classic ergonomic methods are discussed as well as modern telematic devices, or trends regarding driver-assessment. In the last part, current developments are presented in relation to better mobility and the protection of the environment. Questions are asked, such as whether we could reduce the use of cars, how travel behaviour can be modified or to what extent the use of alternatives to motor vehicles benefits safety as well as the environment. This work is not only important for psychologists. It should be read by all transport professionals interested in the application of psychology to traffic.
