Robot Envy is an online community with thousands of fans and hundreds of artists coming together to celebrate the world's best robot art. It began back in 2012 with a successful kickstarter campaign featuring a specialty sketchbook/package design project created by davpunk. Since then, the Robot Envy network has flourished, promoting a new artist every week for the past 3 years. This "robolution" inspired a second sketchbook titled, "Robot Envy: Reconstruction," which featured brand new sketches and designs from davpunk. Founder Dave Pasciuto (davpunk) said, "We have curated the best robot inspired artwork on the planet. It's time to promote the creators and bring their work to life. This is why we launched Robot Envy: Zenith." Robot Envy: Zenith features a collection of the finest robot artwork in existence. One giant robot book with over 60 incredible robot artists; illustrators and sculptors from around the world. We feature some of the most inspiring artists today--like Jake Parker, Steve Talkowski, Dacosta, Brian Despain, Boris Bakliza, Emerson Tung, Bambino Monkey and Eric Joyner--just to name a very few! The book itself is an impressive 8.5 x 11 (portrait orientation), hardcover, 256 page, full-color art book. The interior pages beautifully display all of the amazing artwork in vivid detail. Hands down, this is coolest art book you can possibly own. So join the Robolution and activate Robot Envy: Zenith today!

What drives you? Our world is plunged into a battle of values. Any brewing dispute or issue that calls us to take a stand boils down to a battle of values. On a personal level, every moment finds us in the same battle. Which of those that demand of my time, resources, and heart will I give myself to? How much of myself will I give? How do we decide? What is our ultimate value against which we measure all others? With a watching world all waiting to find out what we are all about, are we clear on what we value? In The Values - Driven Heart: Weighing In On What Really Matters, Pastor Joey Bonifacio guides us on a journey to help us clarify what values operate in our lives—and which are worth pursuing. Each chapter is filled with insight and compels us to process what we are all about. As we decide on what we value, we decide how to impact our world.

Robots That Kill written by Judith A. Markowitz and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-04-17 with Performing Arts categories.

This book describes real-world killer robots using a blend of perspectives. Overviews of technologies, such as autonomy and artificial intelligence, demonstrate how science enables these robots to be effective killers. Incisive analyses of social controversies swirling around the design and use of killer robots reveal that science, alone, will not govern their future. Among those disputes is whether fully-autonomous, robotic weapons should be banned. Examinations of killers from the golem to Frankenstein's monster reveal that artificially-created beings like them are precursors of real 21st century killer robots. This book laces the death and destruction caused by all these killers with science and humor. The seamless combination of these elements produces a deeper and richer understanding of the robots around us.

In a factory on the slopes of Mount Fuji, industrial robots are now making more robots, working flawlessly around the clock with virtually no human supervision. In Beverly Hills, a robot which normally serves drinks at parties is arrested for handing out business cards illegally in a busy downtown street. From forbidding lunar landscapes to mineral-rich ocean floors, robots perform tasks we thought only humans could do-or could not be done at all. In The Robot Revolution, noted author and computer engineer Tom Logsdon reveals the fact-is stranger than fiction world of robots and the impact they are having in all facets of society, from industry and defense to sports and entertainment. He explores their history from the legendary creations of the ancient Greeks to the experimental ultra sensitive machines of today. And he explains just what robot is and why the latest advances in such fascinating fields as artificial intelligence are making real robots more and more similar to R2D2 and C3P0. Ready or not, The Robot Revolution is here and our lives are never going to be the same again.

Pete McRae, a robotics software programmer with a background in genetic engineering and neuroscience believes machines, in the very near future, will not only have the ability to think but will also have emotions. He is so obsessed with this belief that at times he cannot distinguish between biological life forms and machines. This strong belief and developments in the fields of robotics, neuroscience and nanotechnology lead him to develop a robot with an electronic brain that has the capabilities of a human brain. Could this mechanical brain think and feel like a human brain? The results of his experiment are not only shocking but they also bring back painful memories of his past. What does he learn about love and other emotions that go with it? Does he prove machines can have emotions and, dare we say, consciousness? What does his finding mean to the future of machines? Or for that matter, the future of biological life forms as we know them today?

Bio A I From Embodied Cognition To Enactive Robotics written by Adam Safron and has been published by Frontiers Media SA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-08 with Science categories.

Even before the deep learning revolution, the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) was already changing drastically in the 90s. Embodied intelligence, it was proposed, must play a crucial role in the design of intelligent machines. This new wave was inspired by what is today known as Embodied and Enactive Cognitive Science or E-Cognition, which considers that cognitive activity does not reduce to the intellectual capacities of agents being able to represent their environments. E-cognition set AI and robotics in a new direction, in which intelligent machines are required to interact with the environment, and where this interaction does not reduce to explicit representations or prespecified algorithms. These ideas revolutionized the way we think about intelligent machines and cognition, but these theoretical advances are only partially reflected in modern approaches to AI and machine learning (ML). Despite deeply impressive achievements, AI/ML still struggles to recapitulate the kinds of intelligence we find in natural systems, whether we are considering individual insects (e.g. simultaneous localization and mapping), or swarm behaviour (e.g. forum sensing and ensemble inferences), and especially the kinds of flexibility and high-level reasoning characteristic of human cognition.

Ethics And Robotics written by Rafael Capurro and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009 with Robotics categories.

"Ethics and robotics are two academic disciplines, one dealing with the moral norms and values underlying implicitly or explicitly human behavior and the other aiming at the production of artificial agents, mostly as physical devices, with some degree of autonomy based on rules and programmes set up by their creators. Robotics is also one of the research fields where the convergence of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and cognitive science is currently taking place with large societal and legal implications beyond traditional industrial applications. Robots are and will remain -in the foreseeable future- dependent on human ethical scrutiny as well as on the moral and legal responsibility of humans. Human-robot interaction raises serious ethical questions right now that are theoretically less ambitious, but practically more important than the possibility of the creation of moral machines that would be more than machines with an ethical code. The ethical perspective addressed in this volume is therefore the one we humans have when interacting with robots. Topics include the ethical challenges of healthcare and warfare applications of robotics, as well as fundamental questions concerning the moral dimension of human-robot-interaction including epistomological, ontological and psychoanalytic issues. It deals also with the intercultural dialogue between Western and Non-Western as well as between European and US-American ethicists."--P. [4] of cover.
