Bounds Of Sense written by Peter Strawson and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-01-22 with Philosophy categories.

The Bounds of Sense is one of the most influential books ever written about Kant’s philosophy, and is one of the key philosophical works of the late Twentieth century. Although it is probably best known for its criticism of Kant’s transcendental idealism, it is also famous for the highly original manner in which Strawson defended and developed some of Kant’s fundamental insights into the nature of subjectivity, experience and knowledge. The book had a profound effect on the interpretation of Kant’s philosophy when it was first published in 1966 and continues to influence discussion of Kant, the soundness of transcendental arguments, and debates in epistemology and metaphysics generally.

Kant Duty And Moral Worth written by Philip Stratton-Lake and has been published by Psychology Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000 with Philosophy categories.

An examination of Kant's account of moral worth. The debate over whether or not Kant said moral actions have worth only if they are carried out from duty or whether actions carried out from mixed motives can be good is complex and lies at the heart of Kant's philosophy. Philip Stratton-Lake offers an account of acting from duty which utilizes the distinction between primary and secondary motives. He maintains that the moral law should not be understood as normative moral reason but as playing a transcendental role. Thus, a Kantian account of moral worth is one where the virtuous agent is one who is responsive to concrete particular considerations whilst preserving an essential role for universal moral principles.

Kant S Theory Of Knowledge written by Graham Bird and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-05 with Philosophy categories.

First published in 1962. Kant’s philosophical works, and especially the Critique of Pure Reason, have had some influence on recent British philosophy. But the complexities of Kant’s arguments, and the unfamiliarity of his vocabulary, inhibit understanding of his point of view. In Kant’s Theory of Knowledge an attempt is made to relate Kant’s arguments in the Critique of Pure Reason to contemporary issues by expressing them in a more modern idiom. The selection of issues discussed is intended to present a continuous argument, of an epistemological kind, which runs centrally through the Critique. The argument deals with essentially with the problems, raised in the Transcendental Analytic, about the status of categories. It deals with certain preliminary assumptions made in setting these problems, and discusses the way in which the various sections of the Analytic contribute to their solution. It also deals with Kant’s criticisms of traditional metaphysics, and ends with an account of his effort in the Third Antinomy to resolve the conflict between freedom and causality, and so to effect a transition of knowledge to moral philosophy.

Kant On Absolute Value written by Patrick Æ. Hutchings and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-04-25 with Philosophy categories.

The thesis of this book, first published in 1972, is that Kant’s notions of ‘absolute worth’, the ‘unconditioned’ and ‘unconditioned worth’ are rationalistic and confused, and that they spoil his ontology of personal value and tend to subvert his splendid idea of the person as an End in himself.
