Royal Impostor is a Historical Romance set in seventeenth century France at the end of the Wars of Religion that has plagued the country for decades. Young Gemma Marseau is a lady-in-waiting at the court of the captive Queen Marguerite Valois who was exiled from Paris for her promiscuous lifestyle which brought shame to the monarchy. Gemma is of noble birth and is betrothed to Sir Jay Fontaine who is next in line for the French throne. Her marriage plans are marred by her suspicions that her parents are not her real family, and that she is not of noble birth after all. She begins to seek answers. Along the way she meets Raoul Rousseau who is a knight in King Henry IV's guard. They fall in love. Gemma is not interested in a relationship with a poor knight and rejects his advances. Raoul is not what he seems, but he helps her discover her identity and true love.Huguenot Henry Navarre is wed to catholic Marguerite Valois; an arranged marriage to save France from more wars of religion. Marguerite suffers heartbreak for she believes that her parents are sacrificing her to Navarre to get her away from the court at Paris. They are embarrassed by her promiscuous lifestyle. She believes if her brothers can have illegitimate relationships so can she. She pursues that lifestyle to the chagrin of her husband, now King Henry IV, who locks her in Usson castle and forbids her to leave the city. When a thief steals three major art masterpieces from the Louvre, the king calls on Marguerite to help chase down the thief. He would reward her if she succeeds by letting her return to the fascinating court at Paris where she belongs.

The Royal Trials were never meant to be easy, not even for an imposter like Rybet Waise. But nothing could have prepared her for the magical storms, mutated animals and malicious gods standing in her way. There is no time for tears, mere hours after being bathed in Prince Alexander's blood, Rybet must embark on a quest. The second trial dictates she find a missing magical artefact--Queen Ophelia's crown. Released from the overbearing confines of the royal palace, Rybet competes not only with the other remaining ladies, but also with the land itself. Magic is more volatile than ever, and the gods have come out to play. Royal love interests who don't know how to share only make things harder for this dirty pond-dweller--if that's really all she is. Rybet will do whatever it takes to make it out alive, and with her heart unbroken. Book 3: HEIR A corrupt King. A murdered Queen. A missing Princess... Found. Once upon a time, The Royal Trials were a sacred ritual designed for a queen to select her king. But nothing is as it was in the kingdom of Tiech. Not since the brutal murder of beloved Queen Ophelia. The town of Ironforge revealed important secrets, but it all came at an unbearable cost. The streets run red with the blood of innocents and Rybet's heart is heavy as she returns to Lakehaven. Facing court and her mother's murderer will require more than just a brave face. She will need the skill, intellect and support of those who love her. Or what's left of them. Torn between love and duty, Rybet faces decisions she never thought she would have to make. This long lost princess will do whatever it takes to make it to the Golden Ball, even at the cost of her own happiness. **PLEASE NOTE: This is a reverse harem romance, meaning the leading lady ends up with 3+ love interests and does not choose between them. If that's not your cup of tea, this isn't the series for you!**

This illustrated and light-hearted volume tells the history of the tradition of pretence and rebellion through the remarkable stories of many individuals who have pictured themselves as kings, queens or presidents. Beginning with Greek and Roman pretenders, such as the Roman governor Posthumus who declared imself emperor in AD 260, the authors discuss the circumstances that have produced imposters and the means that they have used to cling to power or keep their hopes alive. More recent pretenders include usurper Henry IV, various Stuarts, a line that still produces `heirs' today, and numerous European claimants, including the famous case of Anna Anderson or Grand Duchess Anastasia.

A History Of Russian Christianity Vol Ii written by Daniel H. Shubin and has been published by Algora Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004 with Religion categories.

From Apostle Andrew to the conclusion of Soviet authority in 1990, Daniel Shubin presents the entire history of Christianity in Russia in a 3-volume series. The events, people and politics that forged the earliest traditions of Russian Christianity are presented objectively and intensively, describing the rise and dominance of the Russian Orthodox Church, the many dissenters and sectarian groups that evolved over the centuries (and their persecution), the presence of Catholicism and the influx of Protestantism and Judaism and other minority religions into Russia. The history covers the higher levels of ecclesiastical activity including the involvement of tsars and princes, as well as saints and serfs, and monks and mystics. This, the first volume, deals with the period from Apostle Andrew to the death of Tsar Ivan the Terrible, just prior to the election of the first Russian Patriarch, a period of almost 1600 years.

Throughout history, royal dynasties have dominated countries and empires around the world. Kings, queens, emperors, chiefs, pharaohs, czars - whatever title they ruled by, monarchs have shaped institutions, rituals, and cultures in every time period and every corner of the globe. The concept of monarchy originated in prehistoric times and evolved over centuries right up to the present. Efforts to overthrow monarchies or evade their rule - such as the American, French, Chinese, and Russian revolutions - are considered turning points in world history. Even today, many countries retain their monarchies, although in vastly reduced form with little political power. One cannot understand human history and government without understanding monarchs and monarchies. This fully-illustrated encyclopedia provides the first complete survey of all the major rulers and ruling families of the world, past and present. No other reference work approaches the topic with the same sense of magnitude or connection to historical context. Arranged in A-Z format for ease of access, World Monarchies and Dynasties includes information on major monarchs and dynasties from ancient time to the present. This set: includes overviews of reigns and successions, genealogical charts, and dynastic timelines; addresses concepts, problems, and theories of monarchy; provides background and information for further research; highlights important places, structures, symbols, events, and legends related to particular monarchs and dynasties; includes a master bibliography and multiple indexes.
