A disruption to your critical business processes could leave the entire business exposed. Today's organizations face ever-escalating customer demands and expectations. There is no room for downtime. You need to provide your customers with continuous service because your customers have a lot of choices. Your competitors are standing ready to take your place. As you work hard to grow your business, you face the challenge of keeping your business running without a glitch. To remain competitive, you need a resilient IT infrastructure. This IBM Redbooks publication introduces the importance of Business Continuity in today's IT environments. It provides a comprehensive guide to planning for IT Business Continuity and can help you design and select an IT Business Continuity solution that is right for your business environment. We discuss the concepts, procedures, and solution selection for Business Continuity in detail, including the essential set of IT Business Continuity requirements that you need to identify a solution. We also present a rigorous Business Continuity Solution Selection Methodology that includes a sample Business Continuity workshop with step-by-step instructions in defining requirements. This book is meant as a central resource book for IT Business Continuity planning and design. The companion title to this book, IBM System Storage Business Continuity: Part 2 Solutions Guide, SG24-6548, describes detailed product solutions in the System Storage Resiliency Portfolio.

Reinforcement Learning Second Edition written by Richard S. Sutton and has been published by MIT Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-13 with Computers categories.

The significantly expanded and updated new edition of a widely used text on reinforcement learning, one of the most active research areas in artificial intelligence. Reinforcement learning, one of the most active research areas in artificial intelligence, is a computational approach to learning whereby an agent tries to maximize the total amount of reward it receives while interacting with a complex, uncertain environment. In Reinforcement Learning, Richard Sutton and Andrew Barto provide a clear and simple account of the field's key ideas and algorithms. This second edition has been significantly expanded and updated, presenting new topics and updating coverage of other topics. Like the first edition, this second edition focuses on core online learning algorithms, with the more mathematical material set off in shaded boxes. Part I covers as much of reinforcement learning as possible without going beyond the tabular case for which exact solutions can be found. Many algorithms presented in this part are new to the second edition, including UCB, Expected Sarsa, and Double Learning. Part II extends these ideas to function approximation, with new sections on such topics as artificial neural networks and the Fourier basis, and offers expanded treatment of off-policy learning and policy-gradient methods. Part III has new chapters on reinforcement learning's relationships to psychology and neuroscience, as well as an updated case-studies chapter including AlphaGo and AlphaGo Zero, Atari game playing, and IBM Watson's wagering strategy. The final chapter discusses the future societal impacts of reinforcement learning.

The papers which appear in this book were presented by their authors at a Symposium hosted by the Centre for Communication System Research, University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom, on 28-29 March 2007. The Symposium was organized under the aegis of COST Action 285: Modeling and Simulation Tools for Research in Emerging Multi-Service Telecommunications The Symposium focused specifically on recent advances in modeling and simulation methods, techniques, and tools for communications networks and services. COST – the acronym for European COoperation in the field of Scientific and Technical research – is the oldest and most broadly focused European inter-governmental vehicle for cooperative research. COST was established by the Ministerial Conference in November 1971, and is presently used by the scientific communities of 35 European nations to cooperate in common research projects supported by national funds. Hence, COST is a framework for scientific and technical cooperation, supporting the coordination of national research at the European level. COST’s goal is to ensure that Europe holds a strong position in all fields of scientific and technical research by increasing cooperation and interaction among participating nations. COST Actions are cooperative networks that focus on specific basic and pre-competitive research issues, as well as on activities of public interest. Actions are apportioned among fourteen key scientific domains such as social sciences, natural sciences, information technologies, and engineering. COST Action 285 is one of 22 Actions in the Information and Commu- cation Technologies domain.
