This book is intended to be a little different from other books in its coverage. There are a great many digital signal processing (DSP) books and signals and systems books on the market. Since most undergraduate courses begin with signals and systems and then move on in later years to DSP, I felt a need to combine the two into one book that was concise yet not too overburdening. This means that students need only purchase one book instead of two and at the same time see the flow of knowledge from one subject into the next. Like the rudiments of music, it starts at the very beginning with some elementary knowledge and builds on it chapter by chapter to advanced work by chapter 15. I have been teaching now for 38 years and always think it necessary to credit the pioneers of the subjects we teach and ask the question “How did we get to this present stage in technological achievement”? Therefore, in Chapter 1 I have given a concise history trying to not sway too much away from the subject area. This is followed by the rudimentary theory in increasing complexity. It has already been taught successfully to a class at Auckland University of Technology New Zealand.

Underwater Acoustic Signal Processing written by Douglas A. Abraham and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-02-14 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book provides comprehensive coverage of the detection and processing of signals in underwater acoustics. Background material on active and passive sonar systems, underwater acoustics, and statistical signal processing makes the book a self-contained and valuable resource for graduate students, researchers, and active practitioners alike. Signal detection topics span a range of common signal types including signals of known form such as active sonar or communications signals; signals of unknown form, including passive sonar and narrowband signals; and transient signals such as marine mammal vocalizations. This text, along with its companion volume on beamforming, provides a thorough treatment of underwater acoustic signal processing that speaks to its author’s broad experience in the field.

Signal And Image Processing Sourcebook written by Robert Libbey and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994-03-31 with Technology & Engineering categories.
The technological background established in these early chapters - especially in the production and processing of television images - vividly illuminates the development of the sophisticated image processing employed in contemporary radar, space exploration, and medical radiological imaging. Continuing this integrated approach, the author links the fundamentals of analog telephony to the development of modern digital signal processing in telecommunications and networking. A detailed account of microprocessor technology further integrates the overall picture of the field of contemporary signal and image processing. Logically, the discussion is extended to the aspects of signal processing involved in artificial intelligence and neural networks.

"Signal Processing and Systems Theory" is concerned with the study of H-optimization for digital signal processing and discrete-time control systems. The first three chapters present the basic theory and standard methods in digital filtering and systems from the frequency-domain approach, followed by a discussion of the general theory of approximation in Hardy spaces. AAK theory is introduced, first for finite-rank operators and then more generally, before being extended to the multi-input/multi-output setting. This mathematically rigorous book is self-contained and suitable for self-study. The advanced mathematical results derived here are applicable to digital control systems and digital filtering.

Symmetries and Groups in Signal Processing: An Introduction deals with the subject of symmetry, and with its place and role in modern signal processing. In the sciences, symmetry considerations and related group theoretic techniques have had a place of central importance since the early twenties. In engineering, however, a matching recognition of their power is a relatively recent development. Despite that, the related literature, in the form of journal papers and research monographs, has grown enormously. A proper understanding of the concepts that have emerged in the process requires a mathematical background that goes beyond what is traditionally covered in an engineering undergraduate curriculum. Admittedly, there is a wide selection of excellent introductory textbooks on the subject of symmetry and group theory. But they are all primarily addressed to students of the sciences and mathematics, or to students of courses in mathematics. Addressed to students with an engineering background, this book is meant to help bridge the gap.

Statistical Signal Processing Of Complex Valued Data written by Peter J. Schreier and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-02-04 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Complex-valued random signals are embedded in the very fabric of science and engineering, yet the usual assumptions made about their statistical behavior are often a poor representation of the underlying physics. This book deals with improper and noncircular complex signals, which do not conform to classical assumptions, and it demonstrates how correct treatment of these signals can have significant payoffs. The book begins with detailed coverage of the fundamental theory and presents a variety of tools and algorithms for dealing with improper and noncircular signals. It provides a comprehensive account of the main applications, covering detection, estimation, and signal analysis of stationary, nonstationary, and cyclostationary processes. Providing a systematic development from the origin of complex signals to their probabilistic description makes the theory accessible to newcomers. This book is ideal for graduate students and researchers working with complex data in a range of research areas from communications to oceanography.
