Dem HipHop kommt dabei eine besondere Funktion im praktischen Umgang mit Diskriminierung zu. In den Strategien, die die Jugendlichen zur Bewältigung von Diskriminierung entwickelt haben, zeigen sich indes Unterschiede zwischen Sao Paulo und Berlin. Gerade wo solche Strategien nicht habitualisiert sind, können Diskriminierungserfahrungen den Jugendlichen zum Identitätsproblem werden
