He hopes as principal to expand his high school’s programs against opposition from his vindictive superintendent. With his teacher accused of kidnapping, Wes figures out the hiding place. Meanwhile, he learns the murder victim is not Mexican but Syrian and in the U.S. with two others on the Homeland Security watch list. The terrorists move in for an explosive ending. Hogan's mystery forces Rod Mannering, a decent guy, to outwit a murderer and a scam artist. Finding his friend's body at a horse show pits Rod against a killer. A developer's lawsuit threatens financial ruin. With physical and monetary problems, Rod won't romance the attractive Texas rider, Taylor Blair, but together, despite vicious threats, they unearth the real estate scam. The Highway Patrol finds Rod's daughter's car abandoned like vehicles of women killed recently, and he forgets all else. With Taylor, he heads into a storm to find Belinda. A trip wire catapults him over the cliff. Battered, hanging onto a narrow ledge, he insists Taylor climb the ridge crest to rescue Belinda. Fears and hopes attack his mind throughout his painful wait. Through her incomparable work on screen, stage, record, radio, and television, Judy Garland earned renown as "The World's Greatest Entertainer." It was as a motion picture star though, that she first rose to international fame. From her feature film debut in 1936 through the aptly titled I Could Go on Singing in 1963, she lit up the screen with a magic uniquely hers -- and dazzled world-wide audiences of all ages. Judy Garland starred in two dozen of the all-time classic movie musicals, among them A Star is Born, Meet Me in St. Louis, Babes in Arms, Easter Parade, For Me and My Gal, and The Harvey Girls. Her dramatic turns in Judgment at Nuremberg, The Clock, and A Child is Waiting won added acclaim. And perhaps most unforgettably, she starred as Dorothy Gale in the best-loved motion picture of all time: The Wizard of Oz. Judy: A Legendary Film Career tells the story of Garland's movie work in unprecedented detail. Hundreds of never-before-published photos, newly-assembled contemporary reviews, insight from her costars and coworkers, and production histories are provided for each film in which she appeared. Highlighting and complimenting the feature films is a definitive biography; an examination of Judy's short subjects; details of the movies she did not complete; and an enthralling compendium of film projects for which she was considered or rumored. The text is illustrated by more than five hundred photos, encompassing poster art; costume tests; behind-the-scenes candids; onstage and backstage glimpses of her theatrical successes; and personal snapshots. Judy is the exhaustively researched work of historian John Fricke. He celebrates as never before the heart, humor, and incandescent motion picture achievement of the one-and-only Judy Garland.

A Geography Of Horse Riding written by Cheryl Nosworthy and has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-11 with Social Science categories.

This book presents an in-depth, qualitative exploration of the practice of horse-riding by “disabled” and “non-disabled” riders and their horses. Situated as part of an “affective turn” within human geography, creative and original use is made of poststructuralist theory to bring together animal studies and disability studies in order to decentre the human as we think about the social. Eighteen months of multi-sited performance ethnography “on the hoof” were conducted with riders recruited from local riding schools, an internet forum and three Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) groups. The study employed various methods, including diary-keeping, participant observation and video-recording of riding activities, in order to capture moments of horse-human relating. Through these methods, the embodied expressions of horses are taken seriously as demonstrative of their individual thoughts and intentions.
