Desde a sua primeira edição, em 2006, o Congresso dos Estudantes de Pós-graduação em Comunicação (Coneco) promove o diálogo entre pesquisadores que investigam os mais diversos temas e objetos científicos dentro do campo comunicacional. Intitulado "Comunicação e suas interlocuções", o 8o Coneco/XII PosCom acolheu, entre os dias 21 e 23 de outubro, mais de 250 pesquisadores, tanto de graduação como de programas de pós-graduação stricto e lato sensu de todo o país, demonstrando seu potencial agregador e dialógico. Nesta edição, o congresso teve como eixo central o debate acerca da interdisciplinaridade dos estudos em Comunicação, os quais dialogam com diversos campos de conhecimento e colaboram com a compreensão da realidade social em sua complexidade. Por meio da discussão a respeito de diferentes abordagens teóricas e metodológicas, além da problematização de múltiplos objetos empíricos, o congresso ofereceu um espaço de reflexão sobre a comunicação e suas interfaces. A variedade dos trabalhos científicos que compõem esta obra demonstra o potencial da área comunicacional em estabelecer pontes entre diferentes campos do saber ligados às ciências humanas de uma forma geral.
