Consequently, the adoption of agriculture, at least as it is currently practiced, has actually diminished, rather than enhanced, our long-term survival prospects. "Saving Civilization" examines cultural development in an objective and unbiased manner; not for the sake of criticism, but because sustainable development can not be achieved unless we recognize and transcend our biased perspectives regarding ourselves and our accomplishments.
