Il libro presenta i termini letterari entro i quali è possibile identificare Amelia Rosselli (1930-1996) e Patrizia Vicinelli (1943-1991) come primi esempi di scrittura epica moderna in lingua italiana prodotta da donne. Questa ricerca contribuisce alla discussione letteraria in prospettiva di genere intorno al Novecento italiano. Tramite il focus sulle autrici citate, si rileva come le similitudini risiedano innanzitutto nella ricerca e nell’attuazione di una poetica situata. L’originalità dei contributi di Rosselli e Vicinelli si manifesta attraverso la sperimentazione della forma lunga (poemetto) e della rivoluzionaria costruzione di un soggetto poetico eroico femminile. Il volume sviluppa argomentazioni filosofiche e meccanismi letterari che dimostrano l’intenzione di “re-visione” e ricostituzione del genere letterario al servizio dell’identità di genere, formulando nuove teorie e pratiche di lettura che facciano da ponte tra gender e genre.
