Interactive media require new forms of dramaturgy. Heide Hagebölling develops a new understanding of dramaturgy, "Interactive Dramaturgy", which goes beyond interactive storytelling. Contributions by international multimedia authors, designers, and artists outline concepts and strategies for multimedia productions. These outstanding example projects cover various genres: culture, museum, TV, and education. Interactive media are complex and have multiple dimensions. A linear dramaturgy, therefore, no longer holds. The global connection via Internet fosters further dimensions of exchange and competition. Interactive dramaturgies define rules, transition points, and dimensions of multi-user environments. Multimedia, real and virtual elements must be carefully integrated within applications or installations. Interactive dramaturgies help design and create environments and content that lead to immersion, active exploration, and knowledge acquisition, and that motivate users to repeated visits.

Art And Drama On A Late Medieval Rood Screen written by Michael Calder and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-12-02 with History categories.

With little scholarly attention having been given to the late medieval iconography that features on rood screens in the southwest of England, the significance of the figures painted at Berry Pomeroy has long been underappreciated. The unlocking of their meaning by the author has led to the discovery of a unique iconographic program. The gestures adopted by many of these figures belong to a common visual culture in the art and drama of the medieval church. The iconography, which reflects a Gothic Mannerist style of the early sixteenth century, displays a marked theatricality giving expression to the mysteries of the faith in the form of a drama. The narrative recorded has notable similarities to that found in a dramatic trilogy which was once performed in Cornwall called the Ordinalia. This book makes an important contribution to scholarship in the genre of mysticism in art and to our understanding of popular devotional practices on the eve of the Reformation.

Screen Media written by Jane Stadler and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-07-24 with Performing Arts categories.

Screen Media offers screen enthusiasts the analytical and theoretical vocabulary required to articulate responses to film and television. The authors emphasise the importance of 'thinking on both sides of the screen'. They show how to develop the skills to understand and analyse how and why a screen text was shot, scored, and edited in a particular way, and then to consider what impact those production choices might have on the audience. Stadler and McWilliam set production techniques and approaches to screen analysis in historical context. They demystify technological developments and explain the implications of increasing convergence of film and television technologies. They also discuss aesthetics, narrative, realism, genre, celebrity, cult media and global screen culture. Throughout they highlight the links between screen theory and creative practice. With extensive international examples, Screen Media is an ideal introduction to critical engagement with film and television. 'Screen Media offers a systematic approach to film and television analysis. The examples chosen by the authors are both appropriate and timely, and are presented in a very lively and readable form that will appeal to an international readership.' - Rebecca L. Abbott, Professor of Film, Video + Interactive Media, Quinnipiac University, USA
