This dissertation describes two different projects from two different experiments. We have performed a search for CPT violation in neutral charm meson oscillations using data from the FOCUS Experiment. While flavor mixing in the charm sector is predicted to be small in the Standard Model, it is still possible to investigate CPT violation through a study of the proper time dependence of a CPT asymmetry in right-sign decay rates for D[sup 0] [yields] K[sup -][pi][sup +] and [bar D][sup 0] [yields] K[sup +][pi][sup -]. This asymmetry is related to the CPT violating complex parameter [xi] and the mixing parameters x and y: A[sub CPT] [proportional-to] Re[xi]y - Im[xi]x. We determine a 95% confidence level limit of -0.0068

Within the framework of the Standard Model Extension incorporating general CPT violation, we also find 95% confidence level limits for the expressions involving coefficients of Lorentz violation of (-2.8 N(x,y,?))(?asub0/sub + 0.6 ?asubZ/sub 4.8) x 10sup-16/sup GeV, (-7.0 N(x,y,?)?asubx/sub 3.8) x 10

In this work we report a measurement of the [Lambda]0b baryon lifetime using the exclusive decay [Lambda]0b→ J/ [Psi][Lambda]0. The B0 meson lifetime is also measured in the topologically similar channel B0→ J/ K0S , which provides a crosscheck of the measurement procedure, and allows a direct determination of the ratio of the [Lambda]0b and the B0 lifetimes. The data used in this analysis were collected with the DØ detector during the complete Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, from 2002 to 2011, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb-1 of proton-antiproton collisions at a center of mass energy √s = 1.96 TeV. We obtain [tau] ([Lambda]0b ) = 1.303 ± 0.075 (stat.) ± 0.035 (syst.) ps, [tau] (B0) = 1.508±0.025 (stat.)±0.043 (syst.) ps and [tau] ([Lambda]0b )/[tau] (B0) = 0.864± 0.052 (stat.)±0.033 (syst.). These measurements supersede previous results of the DØ Collaboration using the same decay channels. Our measurement of the lifetime ratio is in excellent agreement with theoretical predictions and compatible with the current world-average, but differs with the latest measurement of the CDF Collaboration in more than 2 standard deviations.

Fermilab experiments E731, E773, E799, and E832 are a series of experiments to investigate the physics of CP violation, CPT violation, and rare decays of the neutral kaon system. E731 finished data taking in 1988, during past year the full data set analysis was completed and yielded ([var epsilon][prime]/[var epsilon])[sub 2[pi]]=(7.4 [plus minus] 5.2 [stat] [plus minus] 2.9 [syst]) [times] 10[sup [minus]4] . The value favors a high top ark mass value within the Standard Model. E773 tests CPT violation by determining ([Delta][phi])[sub 2[pi]] with an accuracy of about 0.5[sup 0]. Data were taken during the last Fermilab Fixed Target run period between September and November 1991. It is anticipated the data analysis will be finished within a year. E799, with the primary goal of observing direct Cp Violation via searching for the rare decay K[sub L][yields] [pi][sup 0] l [sup +]l[sup [minus]] (where l = e, [mu] [nu]) took test data between November 1991 and January 1992 (Phase 1). Some preliminary results are shown here. E799 (Phase II) and E832 (a follow up experiment of E731) are scheduled to take data after the current Fermilab collider run with a new facility and detector.

The authors report a measurement of the [Lambda]{sub b}° lifetime in the exclusive decay [Lambda]{sub b}° → J/[psi][Lambda]° in p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV using an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 of data collected by the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. Using fully reconstructed decays, they measure [tau]([Lambda]{sub b}°) = 1.593{sub -0.078}{sup +0.083}(stat.) ± 0.033(syst.) ps. This is the single most precise measurement of [tau]([Lambda]{sub b}°) and is 3.2 [sigma] higher than the current world average.

Using data from the FOCUS (E831) experiment, they have searched for T violation in charm meson decays using the four-body decay channels D° → K−K+ ?−?+, D+ → K{sub S}°K+?−?+, and D{sub s}+ → K{sub S}°K+?−?+. The T violation asymmetry is obtained using triple-product correlations and assuming the validity of the CPT theorem. They find the asymmetry values to be A{sub T{sub viol}}(D°) = 0.010 ± 0.057(stat.) ± 0.037(syst.), A{sub T{sub viol}}(D+) = 0.023 ± 0.062(stat.) ± 0.022(syst.), and A{sub T{sub viol}}(D{sub s}+) = -0.036 ± 0.067(stat.) ± 0.023(syst.). Each measurement is consistent with no T violation. New measurements of the CP asymmetries for some of these decay modes are also presented.
